Harder and harder to be an active member all the time.
My home ward blocks YouTube but not Twitter.

I was in Idaho over Christmas, and the building I attended was blocking Twitter but not YouTube.

It was weird. I thought this was standardized.

The bishop is obviously a cat person.

That is awesome. One of the nice things about singing in MOTAB is that we are instructed from the start to keep our comments and suggestions to ourselves. I was fortunate to never have any disagreeable suggestions from the choir members when I directed the ward choir (I would have ignored them anyway), but I did hear through the grapevine that some quit coming because I didn't do enough Hymnplicity arrangements. I feel that until the Church allows trap sets in the chapel, songs in which a trap set would fit well with the written accompaniment should be likewise precluded.

I am no musical genius, but my feelings about Hymplicity are similar to AA's feelings about Mack.

Though my disagreement with AA is well documented, it appears we are in perfect harmony on this issue.

lol. Nothing better than a choir busy-body. I bet she's an alto.

Are you joking? Divas are always sopranos.

But in ward choir the altos are the refined and educated ones. The sopranos are the ones who cannot read music and therefore are consigned to melody. That may have been another reason for my drop in attendance. My arrangements shared the melody and harmony around.

                  • Our ward choir diva is the choir directors husband. They are pretty orthodox so she makes whatever changes he suggests.

I'm accompanying the choir on a Hymnplicity arrangement this Sunday. Volume #3, Savior May I Learn to Love Thee.

no-- the busybodies are usually altos though. Divas are cool b/c they can actually contribute.

Introduce some jazz rhythm into the arpeggios with some false resolutions. Should make it somewhat more tolerable.

That sounds terribly cool, but would explain what it means. I think I know what jazz arpeggios are, but "false resoluotions"? It sounds like descending scales without an end. Apologies as my knowledge of music nowadays is non-existent.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I have never heard of Hymnplicity before. I think I may be lucky.

I feel that jazz hands should be included in this.
