    Denied.

Robert Anae and D. Oliver are the only true and living AP's of my mission. Stripling Warriors they were, each 6'5" each and 240+.

    • I learned that my first mission president who, sadly, saw his family and his marriage crumble over the last few years, is getting married to one of the sister missionaries that went out with my group.

Seems a little awkward considering the 30 year age gap and the fact that our president had a section in our mission rule book dedicated to locking your heart.

Hope they are happy, but I'll admit the pictures on facebook of their public displays of affection are creepy.

Way, way back when I was in a singles ward and mid 30's, the Stake Presidents wife sadly passed away. He was in his 50's. He married a gal who was in her early 30's in the single ward. Apparently it didn't turn out a real happy experience for her according to people I talked to years later.

Creepy isn't an adequate enough descriptor, IMO.

So now I'm curious: are we talking 30s and 60s? 40s and 70s?

I was trying to estimate age difference this morning. If the sister went out at 21 she'd be 37 now. My mission president had a family of 3 or 4, but they were all adults by the time my mission started, so even if he was on the young side he would have been 45-50, putting him squarely in his 60s.

My best guess is mid 30s with mid 60's. Aside from the age difference I see the mission president as a kind of father figure, so that adds to the weirdness, at least for me.

                    • While we [probably] won't ask for pictures out in the open here, let's at least get the name of the mission squared away.

Interesting twist. Local sister or N.A. sister? Local MP or N.A. MP?

The Church usually lists the MP's age in the Church News along with other details in a short bio when they call them. You could google it and look it up if you were interested enough.

                              Edit: He's 69.

I never saw my MP as a father figure. He was more like an awkward bishop (real good guy, but not a father figure).

Having said that, I've also never wanted to sleep with him.
