I had to do more sleuthing than you can find on facebook. Presidente was a very successful accountant before and after, so the Rolex isn't a surprise.

Turns out that my good friend and MTC comp baptized a family near the end of his mission. The oldest child from that family went on to serve a mission and actually reactivated the sister that is getting married to the mission president, and was in our group entering the mission. Turns out she had married an elder from the mission and started a family, but that ended in a divorce several years ago. At the time of her reactivation she was a single mother.

When she became active again she contacted my old MTC comp to tell him the story of how someone he had baptized had brought her back to the church. She wanted to get in touch with both mission presidents and he kindly forwarded her e-mail to them.

He recently received a message from our first mission president thanking him for getting them in touch and leading to their happy union.

Basically, when I saw the picture I contacted my old companion, because he has kept in touch with everyone from the mission. Turns out the whole situation is his fault.

Thanks for the kind thought, but I won't have the ability to attract any 30 something year olds. I have made my boys the Trustee's of my Trusts and I would have to be upfront and honest about that with any future prospects.

      • I am currently sitting in Stake Primary Leadership training. 27 women and me. I think I am making everyone nervous.

          • Stake Primary Pres introduced the meeting by saying the two counsellors would both give brief messages, and the Stake Music leader would then take the bulk of the time. First Counselor has now been talking for 20 minutes and still has a full head of steam.

              1. I'm in the back row.
              2. I am sitting next to my wife.

Nope. That's a woman's calling. I'm the ward music leader.

Good to know things haven't changed much. I got that talk 20-ish years ago right before the super bowl, in my Wymount ward.

We are in the 5th talk, all have been focused on Sabbath observance. I should be good for the next 100 years.

I wonder though, how many of the brethren here will be going home and watching football? 50%? 75%?

FWIW, one speaker specifically mentioned not watching sports on TV.
