    2. "Why does formatting his aside comments in a different color appeal to him so much?"
    3. "He is a weird dude."

    • My wife was worried about our 11-year-old doing parkour. He had showed her some YouTube clips of kids jumping off buildings and the such. But we signed him up for summer sessions at the local gymnastics place. I was pleased to see that parkour is pretty much just gymnastics for boys. This will be good training for any other kind of sport he wants to do.

Gymnastics is great for learning how to fall. I know that sounds funny, but having that spatial awareness allows you to control your body and know where you are in the air and minimize injury. Also great for strength, balance and flexibility.

Yip. I don't see anything that he's doing in these sessions that won't be good for him going forward. They're working on a lot of different kinds of jumping drills, obstacle courses, and strength conditioning. It's great.

My 8-year-old daughter is in a traditional gymnastics course at the same time in the same facility. She seems to have more natural ability than my son, but I think he is getting more benefit from the activity.

              • A group of guys in the stake usually play basketball on Thursday nights, but attendance has been low lately, so an email went out asking for a count of those who will be there. One of the guys responded:

A few of us are at Youth Conference this week but I think the summer sales group is planning on being there tonight
Ugh. That time of year again. I think my reply will be "Thanks for the warning, I am out."

This reminds me of a visitor that showed up on my porch last month on a Monday evening. The guy knew my name and referred to me as "Brother" through the door trying to sell me some Living Scriptures. After expressing my lack of interest three or four times, he tried to guilt me into providing further references for him. "Brother Schr-ute, any help you can give me would be great. I don't know anyone here. I'm really struggling. Please..."

Wow. Hard to accomplish but the encounter lowered my impression of Living Scriptures even further. I'd happily face off with that kid on the basketball court.

didn't someone on here spend like $5k on living scriptures?

It was only like $1,200, I think!

Let me emphasize that I wasn't around when the contract was signed.

Plus we made like $250 of that back selling them, most of them unwatched, so we almost broke even, especially if you count spiritual revenues.

I've been waiting 8 years to use this!

                        • The fact that Newsradio has never been available on Netflix Streaming or Amazon Prime Video is a clear indication that America is in decline.

                            Amen. Preach it.

A few episodes were on Hulu at one point.

It doesn't hold up. Andy Dick is a creepy celebrity who is not funny. I can't watch Kathy Griffin without wanting to slap her to the ground. The only characters from that show that were remotely interesting were Phil Hartman and Steven Root.

I bought the dvd's long, long ago. I re-watch every year or two. No family gathering with my brothers goes without a Newsradio quote or two.
