Absent any kind of Crowtonesque national scandal, there is no way in Hades that BYU proceeds this way. It sucks to lose to Utah, but it's questionable (a) how significant it is in the big scheme of things; and (b) how much of Taysom's awfulness can be pinned on Bronco. I suspect any Fire-Bronco movement would have absolutely zero traction with anyone that matters.
Bronco's job is not in danger in any way, shape, or form. It's stupid to call for his head at this point.
I mean, he has 2-3 position groups that don't have D1 players right now. The cornerback issue is well documented due to injury. The WRs are sub par except for Hoffman. We're in the same boat as last year with QB.
I think he's a great coach that gets as much as he can out of these guys, but we're lacking talent in some key areas.
Look at Jeff Lebowski with all the defensive posts about not being thin skinned
lol.

Stop what? Saying it was a very important game and beating utah is important? No matter how much you pretend that beating an overrated team 2 weeks ago means beating an in state rival who we compete with the most on recruits isnt important, it doesnt change the fact that it is.
Honest question, who are they going to get that's better? Where are all these LDS coaches lining up to coach this team?

I think calling out the DBs right now is laughable. RD has been a surprise and the other has been serviceable. Outside of Mike Davis and Dres, who abuse pretty much everyone, what are they doing that you are calling them not D1 players? I mean, I know that is the cool thing to do, but the evidence says figure out a new position.
Now if you want to call out how we still have a kicker who can't kick after 3 years, I am with you.

I agree with you except that if you need talent at back up, we are probably lacking in almost all area's. I don't see how that ever changes unless somehow Bronco feels he can expand the pool from which he can recruit.
As long as we have mullahs and "aluf's" who totally crap their pants if there is an "incident" who are listened to or are part of the governing body of BYU, I don't see what will change.

I think the safeties are fine. The guys outside don't ever look for the ball when it's in the air. I'm often surprised they don't get called for faceguarding or PI more often. Sometimes I wish we'd jam at the line to attempt to throw off their timing.
I get what he's doing by keeping it in front of us, but this defense is never going to get any turnovers playing like this.
Agreed on the kicker. I don't know what that guy's problem is. Changes the whole course of the game if we get points there.
BTW, what on earth did my post have to do with being thin-skinned? Nobody was attacking me nor did I claim to be picked on in any way.
Why would I want to fire Bronco? As you and others have pointed out, he's the best fit for this job and one helluva defensive coordinator. Also, I think you are thin-skinned because you seem to be offended whenever anyone spouts off. It is your unofficial job here to show everyone how level-headed you are all the time (you a UVA heh). I read this thread and while I saw some emotional outbursts it didn't even border on CB and this coming from a self-described "blurter".

that is a huge understatement. both do a pretty solid job of compensating for some cb weaknesses (who actually didn't look bad). craig bills had a monster game.

Given your past, I can certainly understand your inclination to defend irrational, emotional meltdowns.
Remember that game when you had a meltdown in the first half and then turned off the game and went shopping or something only to tune in later to find out that we came back to win? That was funny.

The right hash is every right footed kicker's demon. I think the kicking game is substantially improved. I think we should have booted the long one in the first quarter just to see how Sorensen's leg strength is. I saw him boot a couple through from the 50 when he was warming up at the half.

I'll borrow a line from a famous CS poster: I rest my case.
