For those that don't follow SPARQ scores and they are not sure how good that is. I looked at every combine that Nike has done this year and posted the highs at each combine below:

      Honolulu: 110
      Philadelphia: 112
      Miami: 108
Orlando: 138 (Derrick Henry 9th rated player in the country already committed to Alabama) 2nd place was 109
Houston: 141 (Colin Spencer Kansas commit, ran a 4.42 at the combine) 2nd place 108
      Mobile: 104
      Charlotte: 109
Atlanta: 130 (Jalen Ramsey 14th ranked player in the country) 2nd place was 110
      Masillon: 113
      Dallas: 119
Los Angeles: 128 (Marcus Williams Utah running back commit)
      Chicago: 113
      New York: 107
      Oakland: 120
Portland: 111 (Former cougar commit Johnny Ragin)
      All Poly camp: 91
Sparq national championships a 123 would put him in the top 7.

He's on a mission. I think he should be back for next season.

His name is Sawyer Powell. I can't remember if he RS in 2012 or went straight on a mission out of HS.

I saw this kid play several times in HS. I don't know if it was bad coaching or bad instincts, but for being the best athlete on the field he was always in terrible position. At MLB he was constantly getting caught up in the wash, or over-pursuing. I know I'm a Hadley homer, but I guarantee Matt* will see a lot more playing time (though smaller, and probably slower) than Sawyer, unless he can develop a much better nose for the ball.

*I'm only using Matt as a comparison to Sawyer, because those are the only two kids I saw play in HS, other than Tyson Brook who may develop into a second team DE, someday.

Dalton Schultz- number 1 tight end in the country is at Bingham we always have an outside shot at Bingham kids
Kavika Fonua- a safety out of Syracuse has the highest Sparq score on the west coast and just killed it at a 7 on 7 camp. He will blow up soon.
Nick Kurtz- 6'6 210 pound reciever out of Todd Watkins alma mater Grossmont is a heavy BYU lean and would be a huge pickup for us.
Matt Bushman- our backup plan at tight end if we can't land Schultz has 9 offers right now among them are Arizona, ASU, Duke, Cal, UW, Colorado and San Diego St. 6'5 kid that needs to add a bit of weight. Also plays baseball and Bronco has said he can play both.
Junkie, what is your take on Schultz? He gets pretty wildly varying evals from the various recruiting sites (247 has him as the 6th best prospect from Utah - others have him as #2).

I would love for him to sign with Utah, as I think he'd be a perfect replacement next yearfor when Jake Murphy leaves school early to fulfill his father's failed destiny as pro sports Hall of Famer, but with offers from USC, Stanford, and Notre Dame, I'm not holding my breath.

I've heard Stanford leads for his services, and by a fairly wide margin.

That would make sense. World class education and a football team that makes good use of its TEs.

Didn't Fonua post that 123 at Dallas?

Edit: Also, there was this kid (cousin to Darren McFadden) from little rock that posted a 148 at Dallas...

                    http://www.studentsports.com/alexand...rating-dallas/

Alexander, the 5-foot-8, 182 pound defensive back from North Little Rock, Ark., stunned everyone at Saturday’s Nike Football SPARQ Combine in Dallas when he recorded a 148.17 SPARQ Rating—by far the top mark this year.
It is also the second highest all-time SPARQ Rating after linebacker Mike Mitchell from Plano (Texas) Prestonwood Christian Academy, put up a 154.47 score at the SPARQ Rating National Championship last July in Beaverton, Ore.
Alexander’s record-setting mark came from a 4.36 time in the 40 yard dash, a 3.90 second 20 yard shuttle, a 40 ½ inch vertical and a 42 ½ foot power ball throw. Not surprisingly, each mark was in the 99th percentile of athletes tested.

If he is the best qb that Anderson can get at Wisconsin, he won't last long.

I agree and I am not sure thats the best system for him. But the fact that Gary has ripped the top RB and QB out of the state sucks for both BYU and Utah.

Also Michigan has come in to the Utah and picked up some top kids as well. Need to close our borders.

By 'he' you mean Anderson? I thought Austin was a solid prospect.

Rumors out there that Mone is having some buyers remorse. I think he sticks with Michigan, but there is enough of a crack to keep up the dialogue.
