With Utah winning in state recruiting battles due to its new PAC-12 affiliation and acquisition of Norm Chow (recruiter extraordinaire!), combined with BYU’s leap of faith into independent uncertainty, I don’t see the rivalry retaining its talent parity past 5 years from now.

Sure, 5+ years from now BYU will sneak in a win every now and again vs. Utah, especially because BYU will really need wins vs. all its BCS opponents for ranking purposes and will pull out all the stops for its biggest BCS rivalry opponent, but the talent disparity could be quite pronounced by then.

I really hope that BYU is able to keep up. I love the balanced rivalry that we’ve had to this point and want it to continue.

I'm generally sickened by posters who will wander into one of their rival's threads, make broad negative claims about their rival's future prospects and do it under cover of faux concern and/or interest.

Jake's cheeks don't look too rosy in that basketball promo video, but maybe they had some makeup on him. He's also starting to look a little less boyish than he did before.

Concern for the integrity of the rivalry is what drew me to participate on this forum (the only forum I have ever participated on). You can go search out my first ever post to confirm. The rivalry is indeed important to me, and by extension (hard as it is to say) so is BYU Football.

Maybe the rumors about his conquest of a former Laurel's virtue are accurate.

That was TIC, wasn't it? Calling Norm Chow a "recruiter extraordinaire" was what gave you away.

Harmon tweets that Heaps is finally back to participating in drills. I'm guessing the rest was for that dislocated/broken rib situation.

I was wondering what was going on there. Seems there were a bunch of rumors about him not working out and not taking the offseason as serious as other players. I had kind of forgot about the injury in the last game.

Collin Keoshian has moved from linebacker to running back.

Also Daniel Sorenson is moving from linebacker back to safety.

Keoshian's 8-man film was really impressive. Is a move to RB a sign that he was impressive as an athlete and could do some good there or a sign that he was disappointing as a LB and unlikely to get PT with such a logjam back there?

Good question. I was really high on him and I have heard that he has impressed the coaches but struggled to get down the schemes because he was coming from 8 man football. Last I heard he had also gained quite a bit of weight and he was about 250 pounds. So maybe he will be Mendenhalls backup at FB. Not sure.

Definitely sounds like a FB at that size. What year is Mendenhall?
