Give the kid and Doman some time to gel.
I didn't throw out the ridiculous Colt McCoy comparison. SMR said Colt sucked his second year, I clicked the wrong year and used his 3rd year numbers. Colt's "brutal" year is miles ahead of Heaps best or worst year. I'm not sure which one is which.

The point is, guys don't always break out in their second season. When have I defended Heaps? I know the kid personally, yet have never been shy in my criticism of him.

My apologies then. When people start comparing him to great college QB's as examples to dampen expectations I took it as a defense.

I don't know him personally, I haven't really had any criticisms of him.

He was capable of his junior and senior year performance during his sophomore year but simply underachieved? Interesting. No growth curve for Colt.

lol yeah I would take McCoy's Redshirt freshman season or his redshirt soph season.

                      As a redshirt freshman
                      217-318 for 2570 yards

                      8.1 yards per attempt
                      29 TD
                      7 INT
                      161.8 rating
                      10-3 record

                      As a redshirt sophmore
                      276-424 for 3303 yards
                      65% completion

                      139.2 rating
                      10-3 record

It wasn't a comparison. I was just pointing out that in Mccoy's soph season he was not good. 7.8 ypa, 22 TDs/18 ints and a 139 qb rating is not good.

I would not say that 139.2 sucks. Would I like it north of 150? Yeah, but 139.2 from Heaps right now probaly has us at 2-1 with a head scratcher at Utah. All that said, his relatively shitty perfomance thus far is a combination of several things only one of which is his poor execution.
