So question here. From watching McCoy last week, he seemed fairly nimble to me, and I often wonder if the transition is a bit easier for guys who are dual-threat. I know he's not exactly that type of guy, but when I look at the guys that play early and have success, it seems a lot are in this mold. Robinson at Michigan, Martinez at Nebraska, even the kid at Utah St. Watching McCoy last week, it seems like some of his best plays were just athletic instinct. And, in some ways, Wynn looked a bit similar last night. Not that he's super athletic, but he gets out and moves around enough when things break down to keep a play alive.

I contrast that with a guy like Heaps, who has to be among the very least athletic skill players on our roster. He is about as pure a drop back kind of guy as you can get, and to me it seems like there's just so much more to learn and process for those types. In some ways I feel like I'm watching a repeat of Beck right now. A kid with big talent, some mental and accuracy issues, a bit of coaching instability around him, and generally a guy who's going to take longer to learn the position at this level because of what I've kind of described above.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Being able to rush the ball 50 times for 4-5 yards a pop does wonders for a QB that has to throw 20 times or less.

I would kill for any one of about 5 guys UT has in their backfield.

Certainly. But he has made quite a few plays like this:

Quite a few? That's a bit of hyperbole. He only has 26 pass attempts in his entire career. That's the only play he's made like that and maybe the one to Shipley against BYU. And that play was more Shipley than McCoy.

if it's true (and I don't think it is) then Heaps is more of a primadonna than any of us ever thought. First Anae, now Doman?

No offense taken. I just wish BYU had that kind of run game so that we weren't so dependent on a young QB. I suspect if Texas were 116th in rushing and McCoy were forced to throw 50 passes a game he wouldn't look as spectacular. That's all.

I am also just pretty pissed with Texas right now.

Me neither. In fact, if they're competitive dudes, they should have some type of problem with each other because neither is getting it done to the degree he should be.
