I would have preferred an 8 team playoff with 5 conference champion auto bids and 3 at large. It can keep the top four spots for conference champions. I don’t care.

This year that would have been.

    1 Oregon
    8 Clemson

    4 Arizona St
    5 Texas

    3 Boise St
    6 Penn St

    2 Georgia
    7 Note Dame

That looks pretty good to me.

      Good on him.

      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Crew Wakely in the portal. Probably the most significant contributor on our roster to announce he is leaving.

              Should've given him a scholarship, I guess.

I wonder how much the new roster cap limits for 2025 play into the transfer portal motion this year?

Caps for scholarships increase to 105. I am not yet real clear how this will affect walk on numbers.

I really think the Crew Wakely decision came down to not being offered a scholarship. I can't say at this point I am real surprised by the coaches decision here. I knew Crew was a starter but there are some talented youngsters behind him who got plenty of reps this year and it isn't a stretch to believe they would be better all around players next season. He would fit in real well with Bronco and it won't surprise me if USU is where he goes back to.

Being serious I will miss him. He made some big plays this year.

Yup. Caps for scholarships increase but also the roster is truly capped at 105. So basically everyone gets a scholarship and no more walk-ons on the roster.

Wasn't expecting to see this article on TrojansWire:

BYU got jobbed more than any other college football team in 2024

Interesting. Agree that the B12's format was exposed this season. That was more frustrating to me than the bias we already know about.

More surprising to me is that the bias helped a team with arguable less brand strength in SMU. The ACC isn't The Big 10 or SEC. They picked an SMU team with the same number of losses as BYU, that BYU beat on the road?

At least the CFB Playoff Committee can't give Dybantsa to SMU.

Yeah, a head scratcher to me as well, but that really started with the AP and Coaches polls.

SMU's second loss came in the ACC championship game. That was the difference.
