It was nice to have a cheerleader (McIlroy?) on the show, but a bit frustrating that nobody engaged with his arguments. BYU has as many or more wins against teams ranked by the committee than most every other team, no losses, yet is ranked below teams with a loss and/or no wins against ranked teams. Would have been nice to see some "blind" resumes.
That said, I'm not confident that BYU is better than any of the teams ranked ahead of them, so I'm not going to get too upset about their #9 ranking.
It was kind of funny that none of the presenters seemed to understand the assumptions that their projector makes (based on the ESPN FPI metric)."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

Also, (arguably) for the first time since 1984, BYU controls its destiny to the national championship.

I don't care if people think we're only the 9th best team, not the 4th. We'll see you after the bye.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

It's bullshit that a team with this resume has to cosplay a Quest for Perfection season because they aren't getting the respect the math says they deserve.
1. If BYU goes undefeated through the end of the regular season and wins the CCG, it will make the playoffs.
2. If BYU does not go undefeated through the end of the regular season and wins the CCG, it will make the playoffs.
3. If BYU goes undefeated through the end of the regular season and loses the CCG, it will make the playoffs.
4. If BYU does not go undefeated through the end of the regular season and either does not make or loses the CCG, it will not make the playoffs (nor should it).
This is entirely in BYU's hands at this point.τὸν ἥλιον ἀνατέλλοντα πλείονες ἢ δυόμενον προσκυνοῦσιν

ACC has a much easier path to a 2 team bid than the Big 12 which is more of a concern. I don't see the committee giving 4 spots to the Big 12 + ACC. The only thing that could possibly save BYU under #3 scenario coupled with the ACC being a 2 bid league is one of the ACC bids would be SMU.

The committee seems to love the Big 10 and, to a lesser extent, the SEC. Probably need the non-champions of those leagues to have 3+ losses in order to feel safe with a 1-loss BYU getting an at-large bid."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"
