  • 2024 BYU Football - Year 2 in the Big 12

    Let's get this baby started.

I was looking through the announcement today about 2024 season tickets and discovered this:

Starting in the 2024 season, outside stadium chairs will no longer be allowed to be brought into LaVell Edwards Stadium. In-stadium chair back rentals will be available on a season and per-game basis and can be purchased when selecting tickets. These rentals will fit within physical specifications to better ensure the comfort of those sitting in close proximity to those with chair backs."
Man, that makes me so happy. I hate those dumb chairs people bring.

Hallelujah! We've had some doozies in recent years right in front of us. My knees are celebrating.

I liked my stadium chairs. I made sure they were within the guidelines. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I just hope this change doesn't negatively affect our prospects in our second year in the Big 12. If it keeps us from becoming at least bowl eligible, I'm going to be really pissed.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

As the resident fat guy....I buy 5 seats when there are only 4 of us that are going....because it give me, and everyone in my group, a little extra room. Also as a fat dude....I love this rule. People jamming their chairs into my knees just because they can. I go into dick mode and every time they stand up to cheer, I know the seat forward, or off the bench.

Don't give yourself all the fat guy credit here.

I put my knees forward (where they should be) when they stand up so when they sit down they my knee solidly in their back.

Absolutely. I treat it like an airplane seat. You can try throwing that seat back all you want...but my knees aren't going anywhere.

I did the same thing in the 9th grade when Vicki Levine sat in front of me in History

How did that work out for you?

So I read BYU finished #44 in recruiting. That's got to be our best ranking by 20+ points, no?

This post made me think of BYU's history of using TE's. It seems like the best BYU teams and QB's always had a reliable TE or two. Sark had Chad Lewis and Itula Mili. Ty had Chris Smith and Byron Rex. Roman had Doug Jolley John Beck had Dennis Pita and Johny Harline. Max had Dennis Pita and Andrew George. Zach had Matt Bushman and Isaac Rex. I know Keanu Hill is transitioning from WR to TE. Hopefully he thrives there. No real point to make here, just that BYU seems to do best when we have a few studs at the position.

our current o coordinator has criminally underused the TEs.
