The SJW ire only lasts for so long. Unfortunately, this is not well-understood by decision makers in these cases -- and it's something I didn't really understand myself until recently. Remember how outrage mob was pissed at Chick-Fil-A? A couple years later Chick-Fil-A opens in Manhattan and the line is around the block. The all star game doesn't happen for another 6 months -- that's an eternity for these people. Nobody would have been talking about it by then.Originally posted by TexTechCoug View PostWell, BYU to the BigXII is dead. If the NBA refuses to have an All-Star game because cross dressers can't use the restroom of their choice there is no way in Hell the Big12 is going to risk homosexual ire by adding BYU.
The uproar over the Redskins' name flares up once every 10-15 years like clockwork. Peter King and Bill Simmons decided they wouldn't use the mascot name when all the outraged whites were jumping on that bandwagon a couple years ago (or whenever Harry Reid mentioned it in the Senate). Now it's old news to talk about it.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Unfortunately, this is time sensitive. I'd imagine that other schools/ADs/boosters would have been wise to recruit help on this end.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostThe SJW ire only lasts for so long. I guess the Big 12 should kick out Baylor as well... and maybe TCU.Originally posted by myboynoah View Post

Yes it is. Daniel Snyder is a bad owner for other reasons, but he has had rare testicular fortitude with respect to keeping the Redskins name. I don't expect the Big 12 to exhibit the same just for the sake of admitting BYU.Originally posted by TexTechCoug View PostUnfortunately, this is time sensitive. Whoa, I don't check the board everyday and all of a sudden we are sucking each other off? Someone let the LGBTQ groups know!Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostWhy are you guys upset? All the insiders including one who you sucked off on this very site, says it's already a done deal and they have signed in the dotted line. That was almost a month ago. So why are you worried now?

Terrible timing. The zeigeist, the power of social justice warriors in the universities, and a willing national media to make this a big story will all but ensure the university presidents will avoid the ire of these lgbt groups. I am no longer confident.

I don't think this letter has any effect on the school presidents' decisions. They already knew BYU's affiliation to the LDS Church and our stance on LGBT issues. They already knew that they'd face pushback from LGBT groups, faculty, and staff. That said, this is the issue that will keep BYU out of the Big 12.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

So is it safe to say that ND is out of the Big 12 as well? I am sure the LGBT groups don't discriminate and sent letters to the Big 12 and ACC about that christian school as well. Not to mention those SOB's at Baylor.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostI don't think this letter has any effect on the school presidents' decisions. Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
