My memories in the 80's of Kansas football was Steve Harvey in the LA Times' "Bottom 10" where the winner of the KSU-KU rivalry game got #9 and the loser got #10. But ya, as a BYU fan who immensely enjoyed 1984, "Rock Chock" and "Anchors Aweigh!"Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

The Dude of WV is persecuted, messes up, has the balls to own it, continues to dish the sweet scoops

Big 12 expansion might be closer than you think. Certainly than I though. And it will be telling about the long term future of the conf.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
The only reason I'm hinting at this is fear that the story would break & would be accused of not knowing therefore a fraud.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
And recently that heat has filtered down to the community where I live. Something was said to my superior about what a fraud I am.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
So excuse me if I try and protect my reputation and my backside.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
You will know when I publish it why I had to keep it quiet until I was 100% sure.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
Again only my fear that the story will break elsewhere motivates me to write this.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
Sorry for the drama. You've never had someone call you boss to him how big a fraud you are... thankfully my boss respects me.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
As soon as I hear back I'll publish. I can't say anything until then.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
Again I could be very wrong on this one. Best not to comment further until I know for sure - one way or the other. SorryChristopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
Sorry I was dead wrong. #11 hasn't been picked yet. But I can say Boise State and CSU are not being considered.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 9
Sorry I jumped the gun. But I did confirm B12 will go east to expand the footprint. Doesn't rule out BYU as 1 of the additionsChristopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
Sorry about the mixup yesterday. I chased a rabbit down a hole and found a skunk.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
But I did learn that Boise State and Colorado State are not being considered.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
Reality nothing has changed. The Big 12 has yet to decide to expand & has not decided on any school.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
If (when) the Big 12 expands it may add BYU but it will certainly add at least 1 school to the eastern footprint.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
And that ins't my opinion - eastward expansion is necessary.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
The only factor in the elimination of Boise State & CSU their timezones.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
So what happened? A trusted source texted me and had a typo.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
Instead of writing BYU and Boise State???? he texted BYU and Boise State in response to my question.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
The omission of the question mark was my downfall. I sincerely apologize for that error.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
Nobody knows when the B12 will expand or who they will add. Because they don't know themselves yet.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV Aug 10
So today and today only bash away because I deserve it. Sock it to me and I'll just take it & I'll fav the best slams.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 3h3 hours ago
No news for Big 12 expansion except that all signs point east. BYU isn't excluded. Certain if Big 12 expands 1 school will be from eastChristopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 32m32 minutes ago
SDSU, CSU, and Boise State are not being considered by the Big 12 folks.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 31m31 minutes ago
Furthermore the Big 12 still doesn't have the votes to actually expand. No invitations, no serious discussion with any school.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 29m29 minutes ago
Big 12 expansion will be driven by profit & loss. That means expansion to the south-east as it does for everyone else.Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 21m21 minutes ago
How can anyone know what the B12 is going to do when they don't know yet?Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

ESPN sez: Time to add BYU
http://espn.go.com/college-football/...g-big-12-image
All these programs have upside worth monitoring. But if the Big 12 expanded tomorrow, the two schools that would bring the most value to the league would be BYU and Boise State.
The Cougars have won a national title in the last 30 years. And in the last 40, only Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Florida State have more victories.
Since 1999, Boise State has won at least 10 games in all but three seasons.
Both would bring a quality brand of football that would help quell the perception gap the Big 12 is fighting.
On top of that, they would bring more to the TV pie than they would take out. Because of the Mormon Church, BYU has an international following. Boise State has been a TV darling since it stunned Oklahoma in the 2006 Fiesta Bowl.
Whatever direction the Big 12 goes, it has to get serious about expanding. To strengthen the Big 12 for the present. And help sustain it for the future.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Jake Trotter is rad, Brandon Chatmon is an idiot
http://espn.go.com/blog/big12/post/_...mpionship-game
With the Big 12 facing a critical season after getting left out in Year 1 one of the College Football Playoff, we debate this question: Should the league implement a championship game if its gets snubbed from the playoff again this season?Take 1: Brandon Chatmon -- NoTake 2: Jake Trotter -- Yes
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, well, you know how it goes.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Undoubtedly ku's finest hour.Originally posted by Paperback Writer View PostHere's a submission for KU's 1980s highlight. BYU has KU to thank for playing a part in their 1984 national title. That year, KU upset OU in Lawrence. If that doesn't happen, OU goes into the Orange Bowl with a 10-0-1 record against Washington (10-1) and many in the media would have billed that as a national title game despite BYU being undefeated. The Huskies beating an undefeated Sooners team in Miami might have been enough to get them voted #1.

No doubt. Kansas is a member of the conference we'd be lucky to join. Missouri is a slave state that's been the arch rival of Mormons for generations. Who are line up with on this one is not hard to figure out.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postthe three or four people going back in forth in this thread about kansas and missouri can also sad, esad, and gfy."Sure, I fought. During the RansomRambler's recruitment, CoachFam (KU guy) showed up early one morning and milked the Cromwell's cows afore they got outta bed. Walking up to the house thinking he'd just won the recruitment battle over the Ksuckers, he was shocked to find Coach VinceGibson (Ksuck guy) churning butter on the Cromwell's back porch. Great Kansas football story.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostI grew up in LA and was alert during the LA Rams reign of terror, you can give me "Nolan Cromwell" references to your hearts content! I also still get misty eyed when I watch "Running Brave!" That Billy Mills guy was one hell of a three sport athlete with his XC, Track and "you can shove the scholarship up your ass with a hot poker" hoops!
And I'd agree that entire 1960 KU Jayhawkers T&F NCAA championship team was full of studs. Billy Mills is the most famous, but CliffCushman's story will bring a tear to your eye.

It is becoming apparent to more of the Big12 that BYU would be a tremendous addition. The placement of the Cougars in a power 5 conference would likely signal the end of realignment for the next 30 years and beginning of the power 5's breakaway from the NCAA. If the Cougars are aligned in the Big12, the Big6/7/8/12's 120 y/o collection of wannabees, outcasts and misfits survives into another generation in the story of college football. If we're lucky, the knuckleheads down in Dallas figure this out sooner rather than later.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostNo doubt. Heh, I was born and raised mormon in MO. To me the KU-MU rivalry is not nearly as big a deal as BYU-Utah. I'm a homer though, and I'll pull for MU. I was hoping a few years ago that MU and BYU would be in the same conference. That would've been amazing.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostNo doubt. Besides, that whole Mormon Extermination Order things was repealed in like 1975...geez!Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.
