Missouri was never a possibility for 2012 anyway, right?
If true then this most likely means Missouri is going to need to either sign that six year agreement to assign all their tier 1 or tier 2 rights to the Big 12 OR go independent.

Missouri, the WCC might have a spot opening up for your non-football stuff.

Good point - I don't ever want to be seen as a Spurrier apologist. I was surprised to find that Texas A&M and Kyle Field (82,600) will not even break the top half of SEC stadiums (unless someone else joins the SEC then A&M would place 7th out of 14). Texas and Notre Dame in the Big Ten would be quite a challenge to the SEC but I fear what that would mean to BYU and what's left of the Big 12.

      • Here is an interesting thread on the Rutgers boards that claim ESPN is behind the raid by the ACC on the BE...

        http://rutgers.rivals.com/showmsg.as...7847073&Page=1

Now I don't know how true this is, but we all know Boomer is a Maryland Alumni. Could be a rumor, but where there is smoke there is fire. Boomer claims ESPN offered 5 million more per team to bring in Syracuse and Pitt. There goes our dreams of getting into The ACC Conference. The ACC didn't expand to be safe, they expanded to kill The Big East NBC deal.
After reading this thread, I feel like all signs point to a planned merger between the ACC/BE/B12 with BYU and ND ending up in the B12, and ESPN backing the moves...

You don't need either of them to discredit that thread.

              • @TheVille33and3: Reports out of Wichita are reporting that UL and BYU have been offered Big 12 invite. More to come.
Seems like there needs to be one more... WV? AFA? Boisenberry State?

Can you blame their cousin for trying to set up the family reunion in the thread though?

Got to be WV. I feel for TCU.

You have to think the SEC will give them serious consideration for #14.

This. I mean, WV would probably be my preference, but if they head to the SEC, who would #12 be? Or, if by some chance Missou heads to the SEC, does the Big 12 just stand pat at 10? Because adding Louisville and BYU is enough IMO to keep the conference steady.

                          Apparently the SEC wants Louisville:

                            • Would Memphis be a darkhorse team for the Big 12? In basketball, that would be one hell of a conference:

                              Kansas
                              Texas
                              Oklahoma
                              Oklahoma St.
                              Louisville
                              Memphis
                              BYU
                              Texas Tech
                              Kansas State
                              Baylor
                              Iowa State
                              Missouri

                                Yeah cougarboard sucks.

Mizzou is staying and BYU got a seat at the table courtesy of you know who

There have been a lot of ups and downs but I am quite optimistic that BYU, wvu and UL are the newest members of the b12.
