No, I've never said ND would join the BEast for FB during this realignment phase. Could it happen at some point in the distant future? Maybe. Don't know. But I don't think the gates to heaven will ever be shut for the Irish and the BCS or its analogue will always be open to them whether they have a conference or not.

And ND signed its most recent deal, I believe, in 2008-2009...and LHN is now a new comp. Why wouldn't ND be able to get a LHN-type deal (if not better) in 2015?? It's just a timing difference.

ND is just not going into the B12, no matter what Chip reports. ND owns the NYC market and it wants more of it, not less. A westward move makes no sense.

Yes, Navy is a helluvalot more interesting to ND than TTU. Exposure to the Permian Basin vs. the nation's capital? Don't make it easy! Same goes for AF.

ND vs. Baylor? ND vs. TTU? ND vs. Iowa State? Come on! It's not the quality of the opponent per se, it's that ND has been VERY clear it wants big exposure market games for recruiting and its franchise value.

Who's to say the Big Ten wants ND for other sports? Big Ten doesn't seem to want to expand right now. Indepdence + ACC or Big East for other sports is what makes sense to me.
