The PAC 10 expansion groundswell

Congrats, Utah. Done deal at last.

Not so fast. If the A&M info is true, there is still Kansas in the mix. Utah still has to get the invite over Kansas, who apparently wants to stay with KState, but may still go.

The way I am interpreting the latest round of rumors is that the Big-12 stays intact and goes to 10 teams with out a championship game. How can this make sense? Everyone else is going to 12 (PAC and Big 10) to get more money but the Big-12 is going to 10? Can they lose a championship game and still come out ok? Something tells me the teams in the Big 12 North are giving the Big-12 South even more power and control to keep from having the conference implode.

That's why BYU and TCU are getting invites.

As of right now I believe Utah to be getting an invitation, to go along with Texas, Tech, Okie State and Oklahoma. I think that this can still change, but as of about an hour ago I received that indication via text from someone at Oregon who would know.

Also Larry Scott has been using Pat Kilkenny's plane to fly around and court potential new members, some members of the Oregon message board started tracking his plane when the Oregon basketball coaching search was going on, the plane has been to SLC or has filed plans to go to SLC.

Anything could happen, I guess, but it makes so much more sense and money to stay in the Big12 and get a TV deal. UT isn't going anywhere, i believe

By comparison Tom Cella from UteZone has 149, Brandon Gurney appears to not have a twitter, Chris Courtney Oregon's Cella/Gurney has 175.

I imagine Chip was at similar numbers before all this.

I like A&M. When Utah has played the Aggies their fans have been great. They travel well, too. In 2004 I rode Trax from my hotel in downtown SLC with a car full of well-behaved Ags in full gear. I was in Utah gear and had several pleasant, intelligent conversations with some of them.
