  • According to the Chris Level talking dog the Pac-10 road show is heading to Kansas...

That plane that is current in Austin just booked their flight plan for the next leg of their trip. Next stop? Kansas

    [...]

That flight to KC is scheduled to leave Austin at 8:10pm tonight and land at 9:48pm assuming they leave on time. What a day for Larry Scott.

I had the same exact experience - including being on Trax. They are a very classy fanbase.

That is generally true about TCU fans as well. I usually tailgate with my TCU friends even at BYU games. It is about the love for the sport with these fans.

But he also says the plane was in SLC on June 3rd and again on Friday the 11th.

This whole thing is murky. Where is the tribune or desnews's version of chipper brown?

One thing this experience has confirmed about newspapers is that unless it's doing an in-depth investigative story (something most can't afford) or a book review or a wrapper for your fried fish, a newspaper is totally worthless.

Here is some hope from ESPN Insider Rumor Central:

Big 12 could absorb Mountain West

Most of the talk about the future of the five Big 12 leftovers has revolved around their being picked up by the Mountain West. But MWC sources tell Matt Tait of the Lawrence Journal-World that the exact opposite might happen -- that the five-member Big 12 would actually absorb the entire MWC to protect the conference's automatic BCS berth and its NCAA tournament revenue.

This scenario very well could have been discussed on a conference call among representatives from the five prospective orphans, which the Kansas City Star reported.

"I know that both sides are going to be very sensitive to how that part's handled," one source said, "so that it doesn't jeopardize the BCS bid or any of the basketball shares that those schools have earned."

Tait points out that one other benefit to this would be that a Big 12 would still exist to collect penalties (which would be high) from the departing members. A three-quarters vote (nine schools) is required to dissolve the Big 12, and with five schools remaining, the seven others wouldn't have enough votes to do away with their financial obligations.

                        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I think that would be a real case of landing on your feet. In fact, I'm not sure that would not be better than being in a PAC16.

Only if two of the 5 leftovers the article references are Texas and Oklahoma.

Well, regardless of whether Texas of OU are there, if it's an AQ conference BYU has come out ahead of where it is now.
