    I hope you're right. Not nearly as likely as Utah going to the PAC-XX. I hope you're right.

      I wish I shared your confidence.

      Really? Why do they need 12? It sounds like they don't care about the championship game. Why add on two midmajors with questionables?

      (I'd still be asking this same question if I were Utah...Why won't the PAC stay at 11?)
      At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

        Championship game = big money.

        BYU is very respected in Texas.

        And hey, i've been right so far..

          That's easy. BYU in the B12 North is nothing like Utah in a PAC 18 east. As for basketball, your Dayton, OH aptly pointed out the equivalency of the Utah and BYU basketball traditions, really just a tier below Kansas.
          Oh, absolutely. BYU and Utah equivalent in hoops traditions. This is such a favorite hobby horse for some folks here that I decided to do some research:
          • Utah ranks 10th all-time in the NCAA in win percentage (.656) and 12th all-time in total wins with a 1,637- 858 record.

          • Trips to the NCAA Final Four: 1944 (NCAA champions), 1961 (4th), 1966 (4th) and 1998 (NCAA runner-up).

          • Only 15 teams have more Final Four appearances than Utah.

          • Utah ranks 15th all-time in NCAA Tournament appearances (27) and is 18th in games played (65)

          • The Utes have a 35-30 record (.538) IN NCAA tournament Play.

          I won't take the time to look up the comparable BYU stats. Maybe you can do that for us. I am sure the two programs are pretty even.

              Hey, I'm just going off your Dayton source. You know, the one that showed that Utah is a basketball school and everyone knows it?

                3) BYU and TCU to B12 and Utah to PAC 12.
                4) Leave everything alone.
                I would be happy with any of the above, except as edited. Your number 2 shows you to be a mean-spirited and pathetic wretch, one who shows all the characteristics of a miserable vomitous mass.

                    OK. Well, you are a physician, but even you should understand irony. I was tweaking that trollette babs, who said NOBODY thinks of Utah as a hoops school. YOhio found someone who did.

                    This is what happens when we let you BYU grads get medical degrees from the U. You end up very confused and struggle to overcome the burden that goes with that undergrad "education" they hand out up there in Provostan.

                    Kidding, kidding, kidding!!!

                    • Updated hierarchy:

                      1) Colorado to Pac 10 (I assume nothing's inked);

                      2) Nebraska to Big 10 (I assume nothing's inked);

                      3) Utah to Pac 10;

                      4) Big 12 South stays intact;

                      5) Big 12 South or best thereof goes to SEC;

                      6) Big 12 North rebuilt with with MWC, Conf. USA, or Big East raids;

                      7) Nebraska, Texas and TAMU go to Big 10;

                      8) Best of Big 12 North goes to Big 10 and Big East;

                      9) Best of Big 12 North takes best of MWC, WAC and Conference USA and rebuilds the Big 8/12.

                      10) Big 12 South or best thereof goes to Pac 10.

                      (Not intended to be funny.)

                      • The way I am interpreting the latest round of rumors is that the Big-12 stays intact and goes to 10 teams with out a championship game. How can this make sense? Everyone else is going to 12 (PAC and Big 10) to get more money but the Big-12 is going to 10? Can they lose a championship game and still come out ok? Something tells me the teams in the Big 12 North are giving the Big-12 South even more power and control to keep from having the conference implode.

                            A&M still considering Pac-XX according to Chris Level:

                            Based on two trusted people that I just spoke with I think that the Aggies are still very much considering the Pac 10 scenario.
                            It seems no one knows anything for sure especially the Aggies.
