OK, against my better judgment I decided to check in and see what's up. (My head was spinning and the whole thing was a mass of confusion.)

So the Big 12 is dead. As depressing as that is regarding the college football we have known, the remaining 4 schools (KU, KSU, ISU, and who is the 4th?) need a home. What can the MWC do with them? We have 9 schools. A 13-member league makes no sense. If this is has been covered already in this metastasizing thread, my apologies.

If this is true, this isn't good for Utah and BYU. They will still be on the outside looking in. There situation will improve if they can pick up some of the leftovers of the Big 12 but still, they will be on the outside looking in.

I would take KU, KSU, BSU and one of either ISU or BU and then, if possible, kick out Wyoming.

          • MWC needs to act FAST, there are not enough teams for the Big 12 to keep their BCS invite nor their NCAA tourney bid.

Agreed, but I think it will be a better scenario than now. If they can pick up KU, KSU and BSU, that could be enough to become a BCS conference.

Did he have a guess regarding Baylor/CU?

                • Wow! So non of this will happen for the 2010-2011 season right? If so, this next year will be an interesting season in the Big 12. There is gonna be a lot of bad blood. I can't wait.

It is better but I think this is a domino effect and you have four 16 team super conferences. BYU and Utah won't be in one of them. They are still on the outside looking in.

Yup, that would be awful. I hope that doesn't happen. I hope the Big 12 scraps will be enough for the MWC.

He said CU was the one going to the PAC

                        • None of this is showing on ESPN.com. You'd think it would be big news and on the front page. There is a link to a story about "all signs pointing to Nebraska to Big 10", but that's it. I find that strange.

                          • The Big 12 should pick up the best football schools from the WAC, MWC, and C-USA and keep their auto-bid. They could make a decent football conference this way.

It probably isn't written up yet. As quick as the internet is, it still takes time to put it up on the site.
