    Yeah - great interview.

    • Over 95% chance the PAC will survive and stay together!

      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

These guys are talking out of both sides of their mouths. Nobody knows what they will do until the media deal is finalized.

You know what is notably absent in recent days/weeks? Anything from GK. Kind of odd to have the presidents and ADs leading out on media spin. Where is the leadership from the top?

He's busy scrambling like crazy to put something even close to the B12 deal. What's funny is that whatever he comes up with will have to be dressed up to look like it's competitive with the B12 deal. It's lipstick on a pig in order to save face.

You know who else is radio silent these days? Oregon/UW/Stanford/Cal. Except for the one comment by the Oregon AD saying he was looking at all options.

Yes, he is absent, but that might be by design. His/the PAC Front Office's prior forays into the public sphere have only fed the "PAC is ready to implode" fire. I suspect this is coordinated outreach by the four corner school presidents (although CU is interestingly absent in all of this outreach) to show unity, at least until they see the numbers. I think it working to settle things down. You know who isn't talking? UO, UW, Cal, and Stanford. Likely because they are just waiting for a B1G invite and they don't want to face those questions.

OR, GK could be getting his swimming trunks ready so he can do a swan dive into all the Big12 tears the minute the PAC deal comes out and it dwarfs the Big12 deal.

Ha, like minds. They would only destabilize the situation if they open up to the press.

Our building is getting some upgrades so engineering has been outside my office listening to 1280 on the radio. This morning they had Michelle on to talk mostly about the UofU women's basketball team. But they ended the interview with her view on the Pac-12 media negotiations and... in a fairly inarticulate way eluded to the following:
                  - the UofU was never interested in the Big-XII, because the conference corrupt and slimey. She said this was apparent to the UofU as early as last summer.

                  - the Big-XII hired a PR firm called Endeavor, headed by someone called Karen, with the sole purpose of destroying the Pac-12 and lying about everything to destabilize it. I've since been made aware that this is a belief among a lot of Pac-12 fans.

                  - she was able to peice all this together because before she became a journalist she wanted to be an FBI agent.

Much like with a child, when you choose to bring a thread into this world, you can name it and steer it in an initial direction. But at some point the thread gets to decide what it will be. And if you don’t like what it becomes, well, there pretty much aint shit you can do about it.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. I invite you to listen for yourself (starting at 20:57 at the link below) to see if my summary was misogynistic.

However, upon re-listening, I was struck by the antisemitic tropes her position followed. There are Jews (Karen Brodkin and Mark Shapiro) at a shadowy organization (Endeavor) who are deeply involved in a conspiracy to destroy the culture she holds dear (the Pac-12). Perhaps she should reevaluate how her beliefs and worldview are biasing her journalism.

Yeah, the radio silence from these teams is concerning…. I really hope the pac 12-2 can hold the conference together, however. Even if they have to give these schools larger pieces of the pie.
