This thread and the obsessiveness it's become reminds me of those polls that say Scandinavians re happier than Americans. I'm sure Ute fans are happier than BYU fans.

I can’t remember the last time I was this happy as a BYU fan…. Maybe when BYU won the national championship or when Ty got the heisman trophy. Of course, Utah fans wouldn’t understand that level of happiness.

Jason Scheer has also noted that the President said there is currently no media offer on the table, that she is unsure a deal will be reached in March, and that she failed to express enduring confidence that the PAC would stick together. But IMO not expressing super confidence could just be an understated nature and not fully comprehending that her every word would be dissected and interpreted to support the agendas of others.

To be fair to Utah fans, sometime after it was announced that BYU would be playing in the Cotton Bowl, I used a Q-tip with cotton on the ends. So I kind of understand where they're coming from.

The Big 12 must be aware of this fact... The Baylor AD said that the Big 12 must be ready to receive Pac 12-2 schools:

The Pac-12 Conference has yet to reached a new media rights deal as the 2024 expiration looms for its existing contract. Reports suggest the conference, which already lost USC and UCLA to the Big Ten, effective 2024, could be forced to rely heavily on streaming in order to land a new deal valuable enough to satisfy its 10 remaining members. Should the Pac-12 schools even reject that and begin to look for new homes, Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades hinted the Big 12 should be proactive in trying to lure some of those schools into the conference.

The Big 12 is obvious looking at Oregon and UW given this comment from Rhoades. Of course, the Big 12 may have to fight off the B1G buzzards for these two. Colorado has to be off the table given this comment from their new head coach:

As for the Pac-12's media rights situation, Stewart Mandel reported the league could be barreling toward a less-valuable deal than envisioned by commissioner George Kliavkoff due to the a lack of bidders and the Big 12 beating the league to the punch for a new deal. Apple TV and Amazon have both been linked to the potential new Pac-12 media deal in the time since.

Though Baylor and the Big 12 have already secured a new TV deal, Rhoades said he would not be elated as an athletic director if presented a media deal featuring a streaming service as a primary partner.

"It would be disappointing to be quite frank," Rhoades told 365 Sports. "Where I go first is the brand of the conference, which means impact on recruiting. Conversations with my head coaches, in terms of brand building and linear space — I know everyone talks about cord cutting, but (TV) is still the way people follow college athletics. If you think about not just the event itself but the shows throughout the week and even on game day. With FOX, you think about game day and their shows. I think it would be a big disappointment for the athletic directors and their coaches."

If they get a lowball network offer and OU/UW insist on unequal shares, the P10 is done. The only unequal sharing that is going to happen is OU/UW taking a lower share to get in the B1G.

Here's one thing I know. Pretty much any BYU fanbase schadenfreude vis-à-vis Utah over the last 10 years has ultimately cumulated in misery for BYU's fanbase. So the fact that BYUs' fanbase is so excited about Utah being left out probably bodes well for Utah.
