Lol. That definitely looks like some MHver3 inside info.

There is not a prayer this would happen. Funny to talk about though.

Yeah, I guess he doesn't know any insiders working for ION TV/Scripps Sports... strange.

      • Sound the the air sirens... (No, Biden isn't in town.) Sources!

Hayes: Sources insist B1G isn't finished raiding the Pac-12

So we’re going to continue with this charade, this exercise in futility, despite the inevitable.

The Pac-12 may soon sign a new, undervalued media rights deal. The Pac-12 may soon believe it has saved itself for the time being.

But ladies and gentlemen, the Pac-12 isn’t long for the new college sports landscape.

“If anyone thinks the Big Ten isn’t coming back for more, they’re not following along,” an industry source told Saturday Out West this week.
        [...]
And once Washington and Oregon leave, the Pac-12 ceases to exist as a Power 5 conference.

The charade will finally, mercifully, end.

It will be nice to see Arizona and Texas Tech back in the same conference again... just like old times.

That is a very rational take.

Don’t air sirens go off with a pending raid? Or do they just go off all the time? In Texas, they go off when there is a tornado coming or the first Wednesday of every month at noon. It’s a good thing tornados don’t come on the first Wednesday at noon because we have learned to ignore the sirens at that time.

                • No wonder FSU is pissed off and wants to bolt (or get an unequal revenue share).... The ACC only is getting $17m/team/year for the next 12 years?

                  B1G: $67m/team/year for 7 more years
SEC: $51m/team/year for 10 more years
                  B12: $32m/team/year for 6 more years
                  PAC12: $20m/team/year for next year
ACC: $17m/team/year for 12 more years

I don't think this includes any of the 2nd tier revenue... In the Pac 12's case that is not much. The total revenue from the Pac 12 network dropped from over $100m to $37.7m in 2021 or just over $3m/team/year.

                    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

That would make my SMU friends very happy… being part of the P5/4 club. I am not sure how this is going to get more media money for everyone in this APAC conference, however, especially in just four years time. But it is a nice thought and maybe it will give FSU warm fuzzies enough that they will forget they want more money so they can have nice things like their gator friends.

                            • Amazon wants it all but isn't going to give the Pac 12-2 what they want...

As Networks Pull Out, Amazon ‘Playing Hardball’ With Pac-12
                              • Amazon holding out for the best for games, financial terms.
                              • Disney will be more ‘selective’ on sports rights, says CEO Bob Iger.

The silk gloves have come off in media rights negotiations between Amazon and the Pac-12 Conference. And here comes the steel fist that’s helped make Amazon the country’s dominant e-commerce company.

Amazon is “playing hardball” in media rights negotiations with the hapless college conference, sources told Front Office Sports.

The tech giant is holding out for the best game matchups and best financial terms, sources said.

Founder Jeff Bezos’ Amazon didn’t grow to $513 billion in annual revenue by playing nice. If the Pac-12 thinks it’s going to get rich from Amazon, they’re mistaken, sources said.

And the more bidders who drop out of negotiations, the more leverage Amazon has over the conference.
                              [...]
Amazon already has its big pro football deal in place with the NFL, paying $1 billion a year to exclusively stream “Thursday Night Football” through 2033. Do they need the Pac-12? Probably only on their own terms.

Then there’s Walt Disney Co. The majority owner of ESPN has outbid competitors over the decades for college football rights. But Disney has suddenly discovered the virtues of frugality.
                              [...]
                              https://frontofficesports.com/pac-12...a-rights-deal/

Maybe the the Pac 12-2 just needs to take the Amazon deal, give an unequal share to their remaining two anchor teams, Oregon/UW, and tell the rest of the conference to tighten their belts. Good, quality teams in the ACC are only getting $17m/year. The Pac 12-2 deadweight schools should just be happy with even less than that.
