As long as we are memorializing bad takes, these should be framed and hung in an art museum.

What's hilarious about all of this is Stanford may actually still end up in the Big 12. Other than going Kamikaze by going independent in football and then putting their other sports in the MWC or WCC, what options do they have.
I know the networks think differently, but Stanford is clearly a feather in any conference's cap.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

They’re probably the most successful overall athletic program in the country. Perennial Director’s Cup winner. Like you imply, though, that doesn’t necessarily equate to revenue sport appeal.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostI know the networks think differently, but Stanford is clearly a feather in any conference's cap."What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

Almost no time to put together schedules in all sports, get their own media deal, and all the other extra costs and work to run the athletic dept.? Yeah, right. I don't believe they will do it well. Joining the MWC might be the only reasonable and logical option.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View Post

Here’s a fun read. Brace yourselves for some serious eye rolling, though.

So much cog-dis and rich, rich irony in Utah fans acting like they’ve been a part of the PAC 8/10/12/6 tradition for more than 10% of its life.
They can’t see that the beginning of the end of the P12 was when it added Utah and Colorado. The conference didn’t have enough revenue as it was, and they brought in two more non-contributory mouths to feed. In the end, there wasn’t enough $$$ to keep USC/UCLA happy.

I would say that about any school thinking about it. Who doesn't have their football schedule set for 2024 yet? And I don't think it can realistically be done in basketball. Who will play you after December? And if they join a league for everything except football why not just do the mwc instead where the other sports are going to be better for the most part than the Big West? Funny that you think how some BYU fans feel about the PAC has anything to do with it.Last edited by BlueK; 08-05-2023, 04:27 PM.

I doubt they’ll join the MWC. They’re academic snobs.Originally posted by BlueK View PostI would say that about any school thinking about it.
