  • If P12 university presidents really care about their academics more than sports, they should be brave and become like the Ivy League. No athletic scholarships, etc.

      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

You know who doesn't care about academic rankings when it comes to football? Network executives.

        • The reason every penny matters to athletics is its finances are in a separate bucket. Athletics must sink or swim financially on their own. And most athletics departments lose money.

Yet athletics loses money because of the requirement to comply with Title IX. And billions in federal grants and contracts for academics depends on Title IX compliance. So you see the proof how athletics is academics' b---h in universities.

              • I love SU so much. He's masterfully setting the table so he can call an SU-wish no matter what happens to Utah athletics, even if they end up back in the MWC.

This post exhibits a gross misunderstanding of Title IX.

Oh man, but Rice would have been a perfect fit for the PAC 12-2.

                              Y'all know what this means...

Big 12 takes Arizona and ASU and calls it a day. If Prime Time can turn Colorado around then maybe them too.

They can have the Dallas and Houston markets with SMU and Rice.
