                Houston wasn’t the best add to the Big12. They have a great basketball program but their football program isn’t great and they have a middling following in the city. They are maybe 3rd in fans behind UT and aTm but LSU likely has as many real fans.

                However, when compared to SMU, Houston is light years better and the potential of Houston is five times greater. Adding SMU to the Pac is downright weird and stupid.

                                I agree! Which is exactly why the P12 is in such a precarious position right now. Dumb university presidents who think world university rankings, etc matter when it comes to a football conference. Now they are looking at SMU and SDSU just to survive. Lol.

                                You know who doesn't care about academic rankings when it comes to football? Network executives.
