Well, it says The Texas legislature wouldn't block aTm from moving to the SEC and separating from Texas - to the point of them not playing each other in ANY sports, but would block either from moving to the PAC without Texas Tech? Who does Tech have naked pictures of?
There is a huge difference in TAMU going to the SEC and TTech being left out in the cold.

Not really... TAMU is tied at the hip to the sips

His second point of Oklahoma not being a better draw that Utah is especially sound.

            That's cute.

You know we Longhorns don't need to come with expressions like that to mock our rivals. The term "aggies" is plenty derogatory.

            • I'm rooting like hell for this rumor to come true. Sorry Utes, it's a world of scarcity. I don't think BYU will end up in a BCS conference, and Utah going to a BCS conference while BYU stays out of one would hurt our program immensely. A move like this would likely shut BYU and Utah out forever. And it's possible we could still improve our lots by hooking up with the Kansas programs.

              • They who have the gold make the rules. Our chosen schools are quite powerless in this situation so we might as well enjoy watching events unfold. It'll be fascinating.

Doesn't change anything. We already added BSU for 4 years starting in 2012.

The Pac-10 has sent two teams to the BCS in a single season before -- in 2002 when Washington State (Rose) and USC (Orange) played. It's not impossible. It also happened the year Oregon State went to the Fiesta Bowl, cuz they weren't Pac-10 champs (I forget who was that year).

What nine conference games does that I don't like is create an uneven road-home split in conference games (how fair is that) and severely hampers a program's ability to have seven home games on a regular basis.

I would keep an 8-game schedule, but there's going to be a huge stink from three of the big four the first time one of them gets to miss playing one of the MWC's big four. That's a huge leg-up for the team that gets that scheduling quirk.

                    • Interesting little quote from CU AD,

Colorado athletic director Mike Bohn said he and others had been led to believe the Pac-10 was on the verge of issuing invitations to six members of the Big 12.
"The longer that we were together in Kansas City it appeared that that rumor or speculation did have some validity to it," Bohn told the Boulder Daily Camera.
Also the Big 12 commish canceled his presser that was suppose to be today.

Washington. Beat Purdue, 34-24. (Actually, Washington tied with Oregon and Oregon state for the championship, but Oregon had two losses and Washington had beaten Oregon State, so it won the tiebreaker.)

Wow. In that case BYU and Utah would really by in "flyover country."

The noise would only come from two of the four--it will never be just one team that benefits from the scheduling quirk. For example if Utah misses TCU, neither TCU nor Utah would be raising a stink (unless TCU wants the easy W on its schedule).

                              • If things happen like its being rumored I like Scratch's idea on utefans.

Take Utah, BYU and TCU and join remaining little 6 and have an agreement (for football and men's bball only so small sports are hurt) to play the champ of the remaining ACC/Big east teams after they get raided by SEC and BigX. If Mizzou leaves replace them with boise st or Unlv. If Nebraska leaves replace them with Boise St or Unlv.

So in this scenario it plays out like this. 2011 Leftover 16 looks like this.

                                Big 9 division

                                Kansas st
                                Baylor
                                Utah
                                BYU
                                TCU
