This one stings as I though Utah could get this commit. Clearly, BM did a good job recruiting him.

I guess on the bright side, we can stop wasting our time with Zach Lindsay.
I went over to Utefans thsi morning just to see what they were saying about Hinds and if they felt like it was a big loss or if in the utes system they could plug anyone in and be succesful. I found this post funny:

I'd love to know what bull$#!+ Bronco is telling these kids? I know he fed a line of $#!+ to Honeycutt's parents. Luckily they were smart enough to see through it. (nm)

Well I wouldn't call him a lock considering he is going on a mission first.

Sounds like he will be a mission kid right out of highschool. By the time he is actually ready to play the landscape could be so different that he may change his mind. Or even not have a spot at Utah due to recruiting classes while he is gone

Go back and read my posts. When he was supposedly committed to Utah, I said that I didn't want him unless he brings us Hinds.

The 2nd post is hilarious. While it isn't out of the realm of possibility that 3 years later he will change his mind, Utah will always have a place for a player of his caliber.

Hinds could be the first player from my alma mater that makes me excited to see on the field at BYU rather than cringe.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

The coaches' decisions on how to utilize Kariya does make me cringe at times.

Davis High football star Troy Hinds sends out a news release Monday morning, says he will play for BYU after a church mission.

So is there any concern about his leaving to serve a mission before playing at all? Who knows how good this kid will be in 3 years. *debbie downer noise*
                Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

He is the defensive gem of the recruiting class. I thought we had no chance

Yes. Btw, that is an emphatic yes. Recruiting can be a crapshoot anyway, a mission just magnifies that.

I guess he doesn't make me cringe when he blocks. But when someone hands him the ball I cringe like someone just handed me a plate of Mexican food from El Matador covered in cheddar cheese.

I don't get too excited about kids that have mission plans. I certainly have nothing against them going on a mission and have the same advice I do for those who choose not to go. It is your decision and anyone giving you unsolicited advice, tell them to F-off.

Heck, if this independent thing doesn't work and Utah does gangbusters in the PAC10, he could transfer to Utah.

                          Solid pickup. Congrats!

I'm guessing lindsay is a done deal too. This is a solid class so far

I give up. Strike all that I said. Neither of us want him, let's just call it at that.

I hate my alma mater. I'm glad that Mark Grace is still a Dart.

I can't stomach those fools any longer...
