I've thought over the past several years that the ACC was where the Pac 10 was back in the late 90s, but perhaps things would improve once the coaching situation was settled at FSU and Miami.
    FSU finished #2 last year.

      Let's see:

#1 Rank goes to Texas, of course.

      Oklahoma, who cares.

The first college football game I ever saw was an Oklahoma - Kansas or Kansas State ( don't quite remember ) game in 1968. I got to see Steve Owens play - he won the Heisman the year after OJ.

I've had a soft spot for them ever since.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

They make the list of best athletes in the country, not just at BYU. Isn't that the point of the All-American Rankings?

Actually, it looks like Larsen was merely an academic all-american, so he doesn't really count.

#24 Children of the Corn, can you say good bye to Texas recruiting?
The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Nebraska has a small recruiting class this year rumored to be only 12-14 so the Huskers will not get a high ranking in standings that rely heavily on quantity. If one looks at quality of recruit (Avg Stars), Nebraska ranks 8th. Still, I would feel better if at least one of the current 5 verbals were from a Texas kid and if one of the recruits were not a son of one of the assistanct coaches (lowest rated recruited who will probably remain that way).

However in the class of 2011, when it was known that Nebraska would be joining the Big Ten, Nebraska signed 5 Texas players including four 4-star recruits. And based on what I'm hearing out of Lincoln, 3 of those Texas players are expected to see significant playing time as true Freshman.

Nebraska recruited Texas while in the Big 8 before they played any Texas schools annually. So I expect Nebraska to continue to recruit well in Texas while in the Big Ten. What will be interesting to see is how Nebraska does head-to-head with Ohio St., Michigan, and Notre Dame in addition to Texas, OU, and Texas A&M.

#11 USC, bummer... not in the top 10.

#15 tOSU, maybe lost a 10 top spot due to the vest leaving.

#17 A&M, no wonder they are not happy about the longhorn network.

#24 Children of the Corn, can you say good bye to Texas recruiting?

#27 Oregon? did the recruiting money get cut off?

                    #36 TCU, good job Gary.

#40 BYU, maybe the independence thing hasn't caught on yet.

                    #45 BSU.

#50 Colorado actually made it into the top 50.

Hey, wait, where's Utah?!? Obviously this rivals recruiting ranking is a bunch of crap.
The link doesnt show what you are listing. Did they change it over the past few hours? OU is at 9, SC is at 10, etc etc

yes, IIRC he started one game then lost out to Feterik(SP)

That right there tells you where we were at the QB position; a trip down Amnesia Lane to be sure. I knew Feterik's parents pretty well by season's end and I'm sure it came as quite a shock to them that their son wasn't drafted 1st overall that year. For anyone else, not so much.

They must have updated it already. Texas is still #1. :hookem: :rockon2:

And BYU is now #34. :rockon2:

Or Tanner Mangum's performance at the Elite 11 has elevated his status, thus, elevating BYU's recruiting class.
