I don't really care. I am just pumped that a Utah commit was there and had a decent showing. It hasn't ever happened before.

I just needed to put things into perspective with some of the cougar fans here. They were already talking about Magnum's NFL future and he hasn't even played a down of college football. He is also going on a mission right? It will be awhile until this kid wins his multiple Heisman trophies.

I was hoping that Jimmer was going to start a new trend where the best athletes/recruits stay away from missions. A Heaps to Mangum transition would have worked out perfectly. Mangum redshirts, then backs up Heaps as a red shirt freshman when Heaps is a senior.

You pointed out NFL success. I pointed out the failure of Elite 11 q.b.'s. What is wrong with that?

Yes, more correctly, Jimmer started up the trend again -- I hope at least.

Of course we also don't know if a lad or two could have been added to this list had they not gone on missions.

Also, of the four guys on the list who attended BYU prior to Jimmer, only two were LDS when they started at BYU. Young and Ainge were at BYU when a lot of these guys weren't going on missions, but I wonder if they would have gone on missions had they come to BYU in the mid 90s.

The question is whether Jimmer will do for the current generation of incoming BYU athletes, what Donnie Osmond did for the guys in the 70s and 80s.
