The two best teams are currently playing in the western finals. Although it could be interesting to see how not having Ibaka will affect the Thunder. Last night's play was an indication they missed him fairly significantly.

So you are saying no matter who wins the WCF they will be champs, that's the best team right? So let's put lunch on it.

        • The Spurs, damn, so good.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

          • Reports of Dwyane Wade's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Next year he should play in about 30 regular season games so he can go like this in the playoffs again.

He's been money. They still can't beat the Spurs with this group, but if he continues to play like this, they should be able to get past Indy. Yes, get past Indy, Cardiac!

Yeah the Spurs are looking awesome, no doubt about that. I think the Heat can still take them though.

                  • Indiana outscored Miami by 12 points during the 8 minutes James sat the bench. Miami was +24 in the 40 minutes James played.

                    • Wade should sit the rest of this game. Get him out of there.

                      @ Lance Stephenson.

Diaw is kicking ass out there, 18-5 run.

Pop is going to bring the starters back.

                          • More evidence that Durant, while being the 2nd best player in the league, might not be his own team's MVP.

And just noticed this morning that James has one of the best playoff PERs ever so far, and he's had series against the #5 defense, the Brooklyn Nets that gave him fits all year, and now the #1 defense. The only players that had better single season playoff PERs that played at least beyond the first round are LeBron James and Kareem. James had an absurd 37.9 PER in 2009 in 14 playoff games. This year he's at 32.27. Even including those seasons where a player only played one series, there have only been 14 instances of a 30+ PER in the playoffs. This would be #15, and James' 3rd. The only other players with 3 are Shaq and MJ.

                            • It's a good thing Spoelstra pulled LeBron when the Heat were in control in the 3rd quarter with his 5th foul so LeBron could be available at the end of the game. Cardiac might disagree, however.

Spoelstra doesn't deserve the criticism there, Bron does. Dude was an absolute moran on that play all because he was too proud to acknowledge that Stephenson had picked his pocket. He needed to let Stephenson go, as his continued presence on the floor was way more important than one possession. Even if Spoel leaves him in, which is a really hard decision to make, Bron guaranteed they were going to be playing high risk for more than a quarter and a half. That play basically cost the Heat the game and it didn't need to.
