They just paid Wall and they'll need to pay Beal soon too. Keeping those two together is more important than Ariza and Gortat. So whatever they do, they need to keep enough to pay Beal because he's going to be real expensive."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I think NeNe comes off the books in two years which is probably right around the time Beal will be a free agent. So they'll definitely keep Beal. If Ariza demands a lot, we could see them role the dice with Porter and Webster.Originally posted by Surfah View PostThey just paid Wall and they'll need to pay Beal soon too. Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Porter is an interesting case. If he can figure things out and ultimately be what he was projected to be coming out of Georgetown, he'd be an excellent replacement for Ariza.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostI think NeNe comes off the books in two years which is probably right around the time Beal will be a free agent. I had to laugh when a Wizards fan tweeted during their first round series that this year's Paul George, playoff breakout star, was definitely John Wall.
Wall finishes with a 14.3 PER in the playoffs, with an eFG% of 38%. His WS/48 was half of what it was in the regular season. It's too bad the face of the franchise couldn't step up more because the Indiana series was there for the taking if he could've just put together another strong performance or two.

Hand down, fan down.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

So Danny Ainge was sitting in the back of our Chinese branch today. Smart dude, what better way to avoid being noticed than to go to a Chinese branch where no one will notice you (except me).
After the meeting I went and told my branch president (who's a big BYU fan), hey did you see Danny Ainge. He was like, "You're kidding right." He didn't believe me, in fact no one believed me, lol.

Granted, I said it when they were still winning, but could see the writing on the wall, and now Bill Simmons has come around. As the Heat continue to struggle with Indiana, more and more people will start talking about the vulnerability of the defending champions.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostMiami doesn't look like a very good basketball team. I'd almost go so far as to say I think LeBron probably had better teams in Cleveland. DWade is a shell of his former self and Chris Bosh is just garbage. If Bosh were a SG, he'd be serviceable (15 and 6 on 50% would be pretty good for a starting SG), but due to the Heat's lack of big men, they need Bosh to be a big man and he just can't or isn't tough enough to do the job. The Heat's bench is even worse. Rashard Lewis might be the worst player in the NBA and he's getting meaningful minutes in the playoffs.
If the Heat were in the West, there is no way they make the finals. If they can get past Indiana, maybe, depending on the matchup, LeBron could catch fire and they could win a third title, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Miami whiffed on free agency with last offseason’s Oden-Beasley signings, leaving the Heat with an older, creakier version of last year’s championship team, which came within one rebound of losing in Game 6. You can’t look at a single Heat player and say, “That guy is better now than he was a year ago,” with the possible exception of Chris Andersen. Battier and Haslem look washed-up. Bosh morphed into a 3-point specialist who never posts up anymore. Ray Allen will give you two good games per series and that’s it. The Mario Chalmers–Norris Cole point guard combo is more unreliable than ever. Dwyane Wade isn’t a top-20 player anymore; if there was a startling revelation from Game 1, it’s that Lance Stephenson spent four quarters thinking to himself, I’m better than this guy … and he might not have been wrong.I'm like LeBron James.
