This has all the feeling of a gut punch series ending loss forthcoming for the Blazers.

No, he wasn't. Also, even if I were to believe that there are no teams in today's NBA as deep and loaded 1-9 as the a Lakers and Pistons during those years.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostMJ was also the league's best player from 86-90.Last edited by HuskyFreeNorthwest; 05-13-2014, 07:40 AM.Get confident, stupid

SMR can't go more than a few days without lying. How old was he during that time period? Around 9 years old?Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostNo, he wasn't. You're not alone in thinking that because he wasn't winning championships, but in fact, MJ was at his best individually during 86-90.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostNo, he wasn't. 37 ppg
35
33
34
In '88 he got 33 ppg, 8 rebs, 8 assists, 3 steals on 54% FGs.

Tell us your favorite NBA memories from 1986. Were you sneaking out of primary to follow all the action?Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostYou're not alone in thinking that because he wasn't winning championships, but in fact, MJ was at his best individually during 86-90.

Great idea.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostTell us your favorite NBA memories from 1986. Were you sneaking out of primary to follow all the action?
I grew up in an abasketball environment (parents not interested). My first memory if being at my uncle's house and watching Dr. J's last All-Star game.
The same uncle was a huge Jazz fan (had season tickets, etc) and always had late 80s Jazz games on.
I lived in MI for a few years right as the Bad Boys started their run. I was a huge Pistons fan at the time, and I cried like a baby when they lost to the Lakers in Game 7 in 1988. Bawled my eyes out.
In other sports, I remmeber everyone being pumped by the 84 Cougars, but not really getting why it was a big deal. My first memories of pro football are of the 49ers, but it's vague. Definetly remember the 85 Bears. I distinctly remember the 85 World Series with the Royals winning, and I was a huge bandwagon fan of the 86 Mets."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

The better analog would be for you to break down early 70s basketball for us. Please share your thoughts, including going to the internet and pasting PPG averages for us. That should help solidify things.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostGreat idea.

I understand your point against smr. I just thought an earliest sports memories thread might be a good idea.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostThe better analog would be for you to break down early 70s basketball for us. that would be a good idea. Would be cool for all of us to listen to SMRs breakdown of his memories of Wilt's 100 point game.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostI understand your point against smr. Signs of life from the Wizards as they force game 6. I'd love to see them play this well and not blow a lead at home."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Gortat was a beast and Wall played his best game of the playoffs as well. Career playoff games from two starters is a decent way to stave off elimination. 62 to 23 rebound advantage didn't hurt much either.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostSigns of life from the Wizards as they force game 6.
