That might be the most ridiculous sequence of reffing blunders since Mavs-Heat finals in 2006.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

One man's hosing is another man's justice. They had a 3 on 1 opportunity, and it was a hard foul to negate the layup. Hard foul committed, refs take the easy road and call it out of bounds. Under 2:00 requires a review. The refs looked it over, considered the play as a whole, and got the jist of the moment right. The angle wasn't so cut and dried that they needed to override the intent of the moment. The refs went with the purity of the game, and gave the ball to OKC. Every basketball fan in the world knows that out-of-bounds in favor of the guy that got fouled is a way rewarding good effort and hustle without the penalty of a foul. For a fan to complain on such an obvious call smacks of true Homerism - Doh!Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostClippers got HOSED.

There is no room for subsequent interpretation of "the play as a whole" by the refs. Sorry. Even if there were, that was one only one questionable call in an entire series of questionable calls. It doesn't explain the missed foul on Paul when the turnover happened at mid court, the missed foul on Paul to end the game, and the questionable foul on the 3 point attempt. The ref began to put his hand up to signal foul on the 3pt attempt before Paul even had his hand completely outstretched. On a play where it is questionable if there was any contact made on the wrist, any contact was only going to occur at the apex of Paul's defensive position. How could the ref start to signal foul before any contact had occurred? Minority report. That's how.Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostOne man's hosing is another man's justice. All refs out one hand in the air on a three point attempt right? Seems he was just signaling a three point attempt at first.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostThere is no room for subsequent interpretation of "the play as a whole" by the refs. Sorry. there are some real doozies in here. I'm not sure what any of them mean but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the refs going with the purity of the game.Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostThe refs looked it over, considered the play as a whole, and got the jist of the moment right. The discussion of the call is taking the attention away from CP3 and his complete meltdown in the final 30 seconds.
1) Paul has no one to blame but himself for the turnover with 17 seconds left. Bone head.
2) Paul has no one to blame but himself for the foul on Westbrook's 3 pt attempt. Bone head.
3) Paul has no one to blame but himself for the turnover as time expired. He may have been touched just as he was about to pass the ball to Thabo Sefolosha. Terrible read by Paul.
Also, I'm in the camp that believes the refs got the call right, even by the rule book. SportsCenter showed a rule that basically states that if a defender hits an offensive players hand, causing the ball to go directly out of bounds, the possession remains for the offense regardless of who touched the ball last. I think this play is a clear application of that rule. The Warriors situation that Doc referred to in his press conference rant is not analogous as Danny Green's foul on the play was not the direct cause of the ball going out of bounds.

I'm with you dude. I hate replay. It's terrible. I hate it in football, basketball and baseball. If the purpose of replay is getting it right, why can you only review a specific aspect of the play. It makes no sense. Just get rid of all of it.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostEveryone is welcome to join my group of laughing at replay and "Getting it right! Wizards made some strides this season, but too many poor shots and inconsistency really buried them in the end. That and David West hitting all sorts of garbage shots last night. It'll be interesting to see what they do in the offseason. Gortat is a must re-sign, and Ariza probably is too, but both will want big deals."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
