With free agency kicking off it's time to move onto next season, right?

    Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 26m
Interest in 2014 draft class is unprecedented. We're going to have a lot of REALLY bad teams this year. #tank-a-polooza

Chad Ford: We know Suns, Bobcats, Sixers, Celtics & Magic will be REALLY bad. Sources say add Hawks to list. If they don't get DH12, likely to tank Twitter @chadfordinsider
    Tank-a-palooza indeed.

With the tank-a-palooza in full swing next year, should we be looking for the Heat to challenge the 70 win mark?

I doubt it. Members of the Heat have said the 27-game win streak took a lot out of them and they weren't at 100% for the playoffs because of it.

Chasing another record in 2014 would be much of the same, I imagine. Much more valuable to lock up the 1 seed and rest, 70 wins be damned.

It will be interesting to see how the Heat approach this thing. Their big 3 is getting to the age where Spoel needs to start saving them some minutes. Wade played 35 a night last season, Bron 38 and Bosh 33. That's actually not as many as I would have guessed, but I think Wade needs to drop down closer to 30 for the regular season and Bron's could probably come down by a few as well. OTOH, getting homecourt throughout is huge and it always takes a fight during the regular season to get there.

They could have lost some more games and still had HC throughout the playoffs. They probably just need to give Wade 5 or 6 games off spread throughout the year. Lebron as well.

Ford just said Kentucky currently has 7 players in his top 30 for the '14 draft. Dayum.

Ford also saying his money is on Howard returning to the Lakers. I think H-Town is the best move for him.

Isn't Houston's best play right now to offer Asik in a S&T with LA for Howard, because then they'd clear enough space to land Howard and still offer big money to Iguodala or Smith. I know a lot of people ares saying Smith would help land Dwight, but Iguodala is the much more valuable player. They could have a starting five of Lin, Harden, Iguodala, Parsons, and Howard. They'd have Beverly, Montiejunas, T. Jones, and G. Smith on the bench (and Royce White). That's a dang good team. I think that's a better team than OKC if Howard's back is right.

If LA didn't want to take back Asik, it'd be interesting to see if Houston would try to play him and Howard together. Those two with Iggy or Smith at SF could form an incredible defensive squad. As for LA, getting someone like Asik would give their team the best shot at making the playoffs next year, as opposed to letting Howard just walk. But it wouldn't be the best move long term.

We are getting less and less imaginative with thread titles.

I tried but struggled to come up with a title as imaginative as last year's NBA thread.

Milwaukee is nearing a deal to sign free agent guard O.J. Mayo, league sources tell Y Sports.
Will be interested to see what the money is.

Offered. I don't think I saw anywhere that he agreed to terms w/them.

Monta Ellis appears to have some great value on the market right now.
