Oh brother. If I had a dollar for every dumb per 36 comparison. Burks is good, I like him. He'll just never been in Roy's league as a player. Feel free to bookmark this post if you need to.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I didn't know Roy was 22 years old as a rook. I thought he played 3 yrs at Washington. Burks was nearly the exact same age last year as Roy was as a rookie (Burks was born on July 20th, Roy on July 23rd).Originally posted by MarkGrace View Postlol. If that happens the Jazz might actually be good. But unfortunately he's not very close to Brandon Roy.
Clearly Burks is as good as Roy. Because Corbin.

Locke tweeted earlier that Burke will likely be the only guy in the Jazz rotation that is under 6'6".
And no Corbin.

In 28 minutes, Burks averaged 14 ppg on 46% FGs, 35% 3pt on 10 shots, 3 rebs, 3 assists
In 36 minutes, Roy averaged 17 ppg on 46% FGs, 37% 3pt on 13 shots, 4 rebs, 4 assists.
You are either romanticizing Roy's production or underrating Burks or both, because even with Burks playing less minutes, those numbers are close.I'm like LeBron James.

I get the impression that you are not impressed with Tyrone Corbin's coaching abilities.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostLocke tweeted earlier that Burke will likely be the only guy in the Jazz rotation that is under 6'6".

Yeah, he played four years. He actual entered his senior year as a 2nd rounder on a lot of draft boards, and then he just killed it his senior year. Looking at his stats and he went from playing 24 mins and scoring 12.8 ppg as a junior to 32 mpg and 20.2 ppg as a senior.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostI didn't know Roy was 22 years old as a rook. I'd be thrilled if we had the next Brandon Roy somewhere on our roster. Like I said above, it'd make me much more optimistic that we were a few years away from being a good team. But we don't.

But 18 PER as a rook, 19.4 in his 2nd year. Poise, presence, and fabulous play making.

Roy peaked as a 24 PER player, which is a borderline MVP candidate. It's also well into AS range, and he obviously made three AS games in a row until injuries wrecked his career. He averaged 23/5/5 with a 57.3 TS% as a primary option. He was a leader who took his team into the playoffs and hit countless clutch shots. The per 36 comparison is cute (I remember when we did this with Ronnie Brewer and Gerald Wallace...lol), but he's nowhere near Roy right now. He won't get there either.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostNo reason to bookmark, we're already there.

lol. I compared actual numbers. I never argued Burks was close to Roy at his peak. Burks isn't close to himself at his peak either. Don't be silly.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostRoy peaked as a 24 PER player, which is a borderline MVP candidate. The actual numbers comparison was worse than your limited p36. But at any rate, Burks so far has not been and never will be close to Roy's league.
