If true, the Jazz are morans and the Cavs should just keep saying no until the Jazz throw in a few more first round picks and Kanter as well. We have no clue if any of this is true, but I wouldn't be shocked as I believe DL is indeed desperate to move up.

    • The Jazz need to stop sweetening the deal until 4:00 on draft day. I don't know what Philly is offering but I think Favors and the #5 should get it done. Anything more is just Cleveland leveraging the situation. Leave the deal on the table and then sweeten it when there is a deadline approaching.

        • Lakers need a PG, someone to take Nash's contract, and are willing to give up #7 to make it happen.

          Lakers trade Nash and #7
          Utah trades Burke

Then assuming no trade up, Jazz draft Smart and Embiid.

Aren't the Celtics hot for Embiid at #6?

The #7 pick this year would have been the #1 pick last year. I think Utah would have to sweeten the pot to make that happen.

It is sweetened by allowing LA to clear enough space to bring in a max free agent, or two near max guys.

But with how many teams there are that could take on Nash's deal, I agree with you that it might take more than that to get #7. But Ford did say that he thought Burke and MCW could get near a top 10 pick in this draft if they were moved because they exceeded their draft slot last year. Fills a position of need on a cheap contract for LA.

I like the trade, but I'd be shocked if the Jazz were to take Smart and I think the risk with Embiid is too high.

Nah. 6-10 is the sweet spot for drafting someone like him.

For some reason I was thinking Embiid at 5 and Smart at 7. Not sure why because Smart likely wouldn't last til 7. I agree 6-10 where you want to take Embiid.

                      • I want the team to explore Trey's value, because they're going to send Hayward and Evans to the C's in July for Rondo and Olynyk. Snyder wants big guys who can pass and shoot. I think he'd prefer PGs that can shoot as well, but beggers can't be choosers.

I wouldn't hesitate to trade Burke for the #7 and absorb Nash's salary.
