Okay, I see your point. Having said that, I think if Jabari becomes a good NBA player, it won't be due to his all-around skills, rather I think if he becomes a good player, he'll be a scorer and not much else - a better scoring version of Marvin Williams if you will. I know many would disagree with that assessment, however.I'm like LeBron James.

Jabari is a pretty good passer and ball handler isn't he? I didn't watch Marvin at UNC, but I'm guessing Jabari is well ahead of where Marvin was.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostHey, I said better scoring version! If Marvin Williams could do more than just catch and shoot, he'd be a pretty formidable offensive player.

I just can't get into watching college BB or pro except for my teams. Therefor the only clue I would have about Jabari is based on what others say.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostOkay, I see your point. I do watch Hayward and at times he is great. Other times he doesn't score but does other things well. Then sometimes with his turnovers and play he reminds me of Carlino. A more talented Carlino of course.

In my opinion - and like I said, i know some would disagree - he thinks he's a pretty good ballhandler, but I've seen too many turnovers with his ballhandling to be convinced he has much of a future there. IMO, while he's been praised for his passing ability - mostly before he'd played several games at the college level - , I just don't see it. His 1 assist per game average would seem to support my opinion, I think.Originally posted by Jacob View PostJabari is a pretty good passer and ball handler isn't he? the assists would seem to prove your point. I haven't watch many Duke games.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostIn my opinion - and like I said, i know some would disagree - he thinks he's a pretty good ballhandler, but I've seen too many turnovers with his ballhandling to be convinced he has much of a future there. I've probably seen Duke 15+ times this season, so I'm just judging by what I've seen, but he looks like a scorer and not much else, although he's really been hitting the boards lately. Having said that, he's just a freshman, so maybe it's a fruitless exercise anyway.Originally posted by Jacob View Postthe assists would seem to prove your point. And Burke and Hayward combine for 6 out of 29. Hayward did end up with 15, 7, and 7 with 10 FTAs. So far Burke has shown he's better than JLIII, and that he probably shoots better in the last 5 minutes of a game than he does the rest. What else has he shown that says he's the PG of the future going forward?
MC-W with 19, 7, 5, 3, and 2.

Lol @ the fact he had to score his 26 points in only 23 minutes. Good thing he didn't play 35 minutes, he may have scored 40. We can't have that.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostBurks taking over down the stretch. Nine straight points in the last 2 minutes, 25 total on 9 FGAs.I'm like LeBron James.

The important thing is to make sure Richard Jefferson gets his minutes. He has a contract to think about this summer. If he doesn't get minutes how will he feed his family?Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostLol @ the fact he had to score his 26 points in only 23 minutes. Alec Burks in year 3: career highs in scoring rate, assist rate, assists p/40, TS%, usage, PER and easily playing the best ball of his career
Klay Thompson in year 3: still the same player he was in year 1 across the board.
Maybe if we played Burks 36 mpg last year and 38 mpg this year we could get back the guy from year 1 that never realized he was on the floor with four other guys.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

If there were a redo of the 2011 draft how does top of the draft go?
http://www.nbadraft.net/nba_final_draft/2011
Here's what my draft board would look like drafting "best player available":
Irving
Leonard
Parsons
Vucevic
Kemba
Markeiff Morris
Burks
Klay Thompson
Marcus Morris
Knight
Faried
Kanter
Valanciunas
Tristan Thompson
Jackson
Derrick Williams
Thomas
By my rating only three guys would fall out of lottery range, Vesely, Biyombo, and Jimmer. Only Leonard, Parsons, Jackson, and Thomas played their way into that range. Two more years and we'll likely have a complete read on this class. So far Irving is the only can't miss franchise changer.
Unfortunately for Utah, the jury is still out on Kanter and Burks. Burks looks like he may move up the board while Kanter has the potential to fall of it. Looks like there were many better options than Kanter at #3.
