Here's the thing that pisses me off about Corbin, how many fouls after the 1st quarter, and how much time did he get after the 1st quarter? I'm pretty sure at least 6-8 of those minutes out of 17 were in the 1st. Coaches usually put starters back in with 2 fouls and take them out in the 2nd if they get to 3.

Even worse, the ONLY justification Corbin or any Jazz coach has for keeping Bell in is for defense. If you have watched him this season you can see that his defense both on and off the ball looks like a guy without anything left. He has been abused. Sure it was Kobe in night one but it was anyone and everyone last night against Denver. He just plain isn't an NBA player if he ever was one.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI'm going to go ahead and join you in the blame Corbin mode. Wins and losses aren't what matter to this team right now. What matters is developing the Jazz's young talent. These numbers have me right with you in blame Corbin mode.
Bell: 22 mpg
Favors: 17.5 mpg
Burks: 7.5 mpg
That alone tells me all I need to know about Corbin."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault
"Once I seen the trades go down and the other guys signed elsewhere," he said, "I knew it was my time now." - Derrick Favors

Same story as last year. Favors has to learn to not foul, but we're sure as hell not going to let him learn that on the court. He's going to learn to correct it in practice, where we don't have refs.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostHere's the thing that @#!*% me off about Corbin, how many fouls after the 1st quarter, and how much time did he get after the 1st quarter? I blame Corbin for the minutes, but I'm more frustrated with his assistants. We all know what Horny brings to the table. What are Layden and Lowe responsible for and who is 2nd in command?Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI'm going to go ahead and join you in the blame Corbin mode. Phil was often the one keeping Jerry on schedule with substitution patterns.

Was Grant Hill similarly out of shape, facing an already shortened schedule as well?Originally posted by SloanHater View Post
Grant Hill has done fine in Phoenix. If Nash stays, this bodes extremely well for Redd and the Suns.
It's remarkable that Hill has done as well as he has. It will be even more remarkable if the Suns can work similar magic with Redd."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

Hill's injuries were more severe than Redd's.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostWas Grant Hill similarly out of shape, facing an already shortened schedule as well?

My guess would be that Redd would be fine to play 20min+ a night for the Suns, but the Suns are giving their training staff a couple weeks to work with Redd on strengthening his knee.

Favors gets pulled in both games with early fouls, yet he finishes game one with four and game two with just two. Ridiculous.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostSame story as last year. Millsap back in the starting lineup. Ugh. I actually don't care much. Jefferson is a ball hog and I don't think Favors is involved much when they are in the game together. It's minutes that are important. But now Millsap will just be pissed off again if/when he goes back to the bench. I don't think its smart to jerk them around like that. Make a decision and stick with it. Millsap starting is not going to have any real positive effect on whether this team wins a game. It makes the starting lineup even worse at defense and not appreciably better on offence.
But, tonight's game is at home against a team that is not very good. So, if the Jazz win, the weak minded will see this as proof that Millsap needs to remain a starter.

Two games in, it is obvious your team sucks, and the player you end up screwing with is the future.
Reminds me of the post in the bowl game thread, where I think it was SMR or MG that said we had two QBs that played good against bad teams and lousy against good teams and we decided to roll with the RS junior instead of the kid that actually had some upside.Last edited by BGRTHNUMEGO; 12-30-2011, 06:13 PM.
