That's pretty disappointing, if true. Has Howard even been in the league for the last 3 years?
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

    • I guess it is 3 mill... I coulda sworn KOC said it was higher than that.

Not a bad deal for Howard.

      • Thursday's deal also gives the Jazz a trade exception, which Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor said will "allow us to go shopping."

Will be interesting to see what happens.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

        • Basketball prospectus predicts the Jazz get 30 wins.
That would put them at #10 in the lottery.
They also rank Golden State as worst in the West, with only 25 wins. That would be the 3rd worst record in the league, and the Jazz would not get the Warriors pick this year. Not much reason to think the Ws will be better than last year (11th worst team), but not much reason to believe they will be a lot worse either (except that Mark Jackson is their coach). Jazz may have 2 reasons to tank at the end of this season to get another 2 lottery picks (W's top 7 protected 2013 pick goes to Jazz). Though I can't imagine adding another 2 rookies to this team next year.
          Trading chips.

We already have 5 bigs, and 3 of them are capable of playing center (Jefferson, Kanter, Favors). Jazz have a need for a 3rd PG with Harris missing games pretty frequently in the last few years. So no.

              • Watching the game tonight with my Laker fan in laws... Should be fun.

Also, seems like everyone here in CA is complaining that the new CBA is way too small market friendly and it really hurts the big markets. Really quite the contrast from what I hear in the SLC market.

It will be interesting to see if near the end of the season a few extra Jazz losses would put them under Golden State with the Warriors hovering around the 7th and 8th picks.

Prospectus is saying Minnesota goes from 17-65 last year to the 8th seed in the West, ahead of Memphis and Houston?

That's just LA fans still fuming over the dictators latest edict. The rest of the big market teams are going to do just fine. (As will LA once they get Dwight and when Bynum returns).

                    • LA is not getting Dwight. Otis Smith said Dwight will be worth more come March 15th and he they see no reason to trade him before then if at all. He is posturing big time.

It seems that every other team besides the Lakers have more to offer. The trade exception is nice but I am not sure it helps all that much. One interesting scenario I heard over the weekend was Bosh, Norris Cole and a shit load of picks as well as a potential 3rd team getting involved to land Howard.

If you could ask him to grow 6 inches by tonight we as fans might give a shit what he thinks.
