I've been watching off and on. Hayward looks great, Favors has done some nice things. CJ looks pretty good. Memo looks old and out of shape. Haven't seen much out of burksOriginally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI haven't seen much of this, but Kanter looks good, as does Elder Hayward.

Watched the last bit of the game. Ludacris was playing point, Elder Hayward looked like he'd hit the MTC gym, and Kanter didn't have the first clue what he was doing. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Yeah, Kanter still has a lot to learn and won't be playing a whole lot, which is to be expected. Raja, CJ, were the most impressive I thought.
Not much really to take away from it though. The one thing I do take away is how much I miss the Summer League, lol. Really miss the Revue here in Utah...

If Raja and CJ were the most impressive, you know you can't take anything from it.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostYeah, Kanter still has a lot to learn and won't be playing a whole lot, which is to be expected. Raja, CJ, were the most impressive I thought.
Not much really to take away from it though.I'm like LeBron James.

I went in last night and the thing that stood out the most to me is how pissed off I got every time I saw Keith McShoot McBrick McCleod's face.
I thought these things could be concluded from the completely lame and boring scrimmage:
- Favors is big and moves really well for a big dude
- CJ is much faster and jumps better than he has before. He really is thinner and in better shape. I didn't watch warm-ups to see if he still jack pots around like he usually does instead of actually getting his shot dialed in before a game. But I think it is clear CJ realizes it is time to get his next contract.
- Kanter is a strong dude. Corbin talked this week about how strong Favors is and Kanter was constantly pushing him off the block.
- Kanter might be a robot.
- Burks is a smooth dude. Locke tweeted the Latreel Spreewell comparison yesterday. Lots of similarities there, but he also has some Joe Johnson in him where he's got a complete offensive game and always looks in control and doesn't get sped up.
- Bell is still a punk that I hate to watch play basketball as he grabs, flails, and flops in trying to draw fouls.
- Jefferson pushed it more on the stationary bike than Millsap did.

That would be a unique, if not odd, approach. To that point, Corbin said he might switch lineups this season to take advantage of his team's depth and versatility.
"Different nights and match-ups may dictate that we start differently," Corbin said. "We may want to force the action sometimes and start a different way just to see what we get from different guys."So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

The starting lineup for tonight is apparently:
Harris, Bell, Hayward, Jefferson, Okur
If we are trying to win as many games as possible, and if Memo is returned to form, this lineup makes pretty good sense. Jefferson and Millsap are both too small if they start together. Jefferson and Favors is big enough, and makes a lot more sense if you are trying to make your team better for the end of this year and beyond. Is this a chance to showcase Memo for a quick trade? That would be nice. If the Lakers are going with Troy Murphy, somebody's got to want Memo, right?
I'd rather not see Bell starting, but what are you gonna do? Our wings are pathetic. I hope Josh Howard turns back the clock. Good Howard and Hayward would make me feel better.
As for the game tonight, I hope the Jazz lose. Remember being pre-season champs last year?

Bell starting an NBA game under any scenario is not acceptable IMO. He lost his slow step years ago and is nothing more than an enforcer and horrible shooter. Release the beast, Corbin. Do the opposite of what your mentor would do and throw this kid out there.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostIt's a preseason starting line-up, I'm not really going to be overzealous about it. Millsap has a tendinitis injury which may have been a factor of not being in the starting line-up.
Raja starting at the two is fine by me if Burks is getting minutes. CJ was inefficient last year as well."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault
"Once I seen the trades go down and the other guys signed elsewhere," he said, "I knew it was my time now." - Derrick Favors

Millsap out for tonight.
I know this is probably a situation where he'd play if it was regular season, but it's starting to become painfully obvious that Millsap needs to be traded by trade deadline. He brings in great value for us in a trade where we could probably get a 20th pick in the draft and another average player in return for him. That doesn't sound special, but we could possibly trade 2-3 picks to move up into the top 5 like what we did with Deron.Last edited by UtahJazzFan88; 12-19-2011, 11:06 AM.

Jazz could amnesty Okafor.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostOkafor has a fat contract, but I would do it if it included one of those picks.
CJ starting over Hayward, the day can't get any better.
