I suggested that the Jazz needed to make the playoffs to stay viable and maybe that motivated decisions. I was told that wasn't true because they missed the playoffs last decade and were still in SLC. I guess I had wrongly assumed that things might have changed economically from 10 years ago.

I just won't support this team financially until I see them do something different. Al Jefferson is not a draw to me. I want to see a young team come together and gel over time. Not a bunch of guys standing around while Jefferson lumbers around, and then gets scored on at the other end.

Yep. A buddy of mine works in the legal department for LHM. He doesn't do much regarding the Jazz but does see the finances for the organization. Making the playoffs is the difference between making and losing money.
