If we have injuries we can sign a million guys like this if needs be. I guess maybe this gives him a chance to get in and learn in case an injury does happen, but for now we have enough guys to fill minutes at the wing even if an injury or two did happen.Originally posted by UtahJazzFan88 View PostBecause of injuries. A lot of teams carry 14/15 guys, the Jazz were one of few that only had 13 guys. When we get injuries we might need him a little bit to give others a rest possibly. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Rivers is big-timing this Dook/UNC game. Major back and forth between him and Barnes to start this 2nd half.
If Rivers comes out I can't see him being selected outside of the lottery, especially in a draft w/o any other PG prospects that would be better than him. After a slow start to the year he's really played well for the most part. Him coming out could really change how important having two lottery picks could be for Utah.

A couple more games like tonight and he's gone. After a big time game, that was a monster three over Zeller to win it. Man, he looked really good tonight.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostRivers is big-timing this Dook/UNC game. Major back and forth between him and Barnes to start this 2nd half.

I can't believe Zeller didn't defend that three. What did he think Rivers was going to do?Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostA couple more games like tonight and he's gone. After a big time game, that was a monster three over Zeller to win it. Man, he looked really good tonight.

I mostly agree, but down just two, Zeller did have to guard against the blow by for an easy two to tie. It was a tough shot, almost one of those where if he makes it, good on him, they deserve the win. Ultimately, the game was lost at the FT line by Zeller and Barnes missing key FTs down the stretch.Originally posted by Jacob View PostI can't believe Zeller didn't defend that three. I thought the bigger mistake was Bullock dropping completely off of Rivers to stay with Plumlee. When the pick is set with 5 seconds left and the big hedges, you drop off for a split second to make sure the easy dump off isn't made, but then you run right back at that guard. If Bullock comes out with Zeller then Rivers ends up taking even a longer shot over two people or trying to get by Zeller and heaving a desperation shot when he's not squared up.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI mostly agree, but down just two, Zeller did have to guard against the blow by for an easy two to tie. We were talking about point guards the other day in the draft. Larry Bird said the other day that there are no point guards in this draft and the next one is questionable, so you better hold onto one if you've got one.
That's not good news.
OTOH, I just saw this:
Lillard is from Weber St and looks like a scoring guard more than a point guard with good size. Chad Ford likes him and Draft Express thinks he's the 2nd best PG. Interesting.Ken Pomeroy @kenpomeroy
Pretty sure D. Lillard is having the best season by any human that has played basketball in any league, anywhere. 130 ORtg with 32% usage??

Ford has had him ranked as the #2 point for a while. His #1 is, or at least was last time I checked, Tony Wroten, which should tell you something about how weak this PG class is.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

The fact that Jimmer averaged a full 3 pts more than the highest scorer this year is incredible.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostPut this in the Lillard thread!

I haven't watched IONA play (or anyone else but BYU for that matter) but who is Scott Machado? He's averaging 10 assists, 50% FG (42% 3-pt), 5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per. He's listed at 6'1'' 180. Is that even close to his real size?"Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

I've mentioned Machado in this thread, IIRC. He does look at least 6'1". I've seen him play about 3 times and he's really good. If the Jazz want a PG out of this draft, I'm not sure there is anybody I would take over Machado.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostThe fact that Jimmer averaged a full 3 pts more than the highest scorer this year is incredible.

Think we could trade Millsap for Maynor + parts?Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

That Utah radio personalities think it is a crime that Dirk freaking Nowitzki made the all star team ahead of Paul Millsap speaks volumes.
It's a shame that there are not enough spots on the all-star team for all good power forwards. I'd would be a nice ego boost for Paul if he made it. But over Dirk? So what if Dirk has had several bad games in this crazy season so far? We are not talking about a guy who didn't play or who is years past his prime. We are talking about the finals MVP. A finalist for league MVP last year. I don't think the all-star voting should be based solely on who has the highest PER through 25 games this year.
Question for random Utah sports personality: Everything else equal, would you trade Millsap for Dirk if you only got either of them for a single year and your object was to win as many games as possible? If you wouldn't. Just shut up. Nobody cares what you think.
