  • Exactly what I felt like was going to happen.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

    • The good news is there will be a player available at 5 that will end up better than at least one and probably two of what are considered the top four right now (Embiid, Wiggins, Parker, Exum). The question is, who's it going to be?

Available is the key word. There's only a 33% chance that the Jazz will pick that person.

        • Easy draft. After the top 3 pick one of Exum Randle or Smart. I'm happy either way. But I'd love to see Exum fall to the Jazz.

          • I might be the only Jazz fan happy at 5. This way they are sure to avoid Parker and they weren't getting Wiggins or Embiid even if they were at #1, because I'm convinced they would have taken Parker.

Randle, Smart and Gordon in that order. I'd be beyond thrilled with Randle, very happy with Smart and fine with Gordon.

I'll pass on Gordon. And you are still crazy for thinking Jabari is a bust.

I thought Locke had an interesting point on Gordon and his defense. His greatest strength might be his ability to guard multiple positions, being able to switch on screen and rolls in many situations. If you have a player that can be really good at that, it can really alter your defense. Especially when you have someone like Favors playing next to him. But if they draft Gordon, that defense better be incredible because unless Burke/Burks/Hayward start shooting consistently they aren't going to score.

                  Bust is Jabari's middle name.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I wish I had watched Gordon more this past season. I saw Parker, Smart, Wiggins and Embiid a ton, but only saw Gordon 3 or 4 times and was never very impressed. However, I think it was the Wisconsin game in the NCAAs, he looked elite defensively and that was the first time I thought it might not be a bad thing to come away from the draft with him. Just a one game sample and I don't remember much from the other times I saw him, but his defense might just be incredible.

                    • I'm okay with how this draft will shake out for Utah:

                      - Uber athletic all court player goes #1
                      - Young big with great skills and natural ability for his size goes #2
                      - College freshman with amazing natural scoring ability goes #3
                      - Lanky player with immature game but very high ceiling goes #4
                      - And long, tough, versatile but poor shooting guard is picked at #5

So Marcus Smart, welcome to Utah. Time to get your D'Wade on.

The thing that's vexing is the shot. You look at the 36% from 3 and think there's something to work with. Then you see 42% from the line and feel like it's hopeless. But one of the things he has in his favor is that he's crazy young. He'll turn 19 like a month before training camp.

                          • First mock post-lotto.

Jazz fans have to be devastated. They have zero shot of landing Jabari Parker here. And their other targets are all gone as well. They do not really need another power forward, but at this point, that is the value left on the board. Vonleh has the ability to stretch the floor should be intriguing to the Jazz.

                            • Please no. I don't want to waste another top 5 pick on a big unless his name is Embiid.

                              • What if the Jazz grab Smart as a combo guard, and then look at Rodney Hood or TJ Warren with #23 to get a scoring wing?
