Honestly, it's been difficult for me to follow the team closely this year so I could be missing some of it, but I have never thought of him as one who plays games. If he sees talent and doesn't get max effort he'll play a guy who has less talent but who will run through a wall for the team. I loved playing for coaches like that. I didn't have the talent but I would do everything I could to play. That style probably doesn't translate well to the modern NBA.
Milt Palacio, Raja Bell, and Wes Mathews would agree with you. Gordon Hayward and (obviously) DWill wouldn't.

Look, I like Sloan, and I wish he had stayed. But he isn't the perfect coach. He's had trouble with certain players, can be inflexible at times, and isn't getting any younger. At the end of the day, he doesn't put the ball in the basket, the players do. (Except for Dwill last night.)

I like Sloan also. I'm sad today. That said, he probably shouldn't have come back this year. His approach and mentality probably isn't a great fit for the current NBA player. I think his offensive system will work forever, but he clearly wasn't as effective in communicating with his teams the last few years as compared to even 6 or 7 years ago. But as for me, he's the kind of coach I loved playing for. I'm older than probably 95% of the current NBA players. It really is a different era now.

I was really disappointed that this was Rick Bucher and not Rick Majerus. I would have loved for Rick Majerus to say something again to work CB up.

        • Sloan was the Schottenheimer of the NBA.

Thanks for the Midwest Division banners, the Finals losses, and fourth place finishes.

          • Is someone going to tell me what Rick B. did to Jazz fans?

Made this comment on why Jazz fans are so hostile:

“Let’s be honest. They’re Mormon. And they’re in Salt Lake. And there’s nothing else there. You’ve got to smile and be happy all the time. This might be one opportunity for fans to get vicious.”
              He then issued an apology.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

              • Jerry's history with the Bulls: played for them, first coaching gig and only time being fired, lost to them twice in the NBA finals, resigns one day after losing to them.

I was thinking about that circle of his life earlier today. I think I dislike the Bulls more than any franchise in the NBA and it isn't really close.

I really wish he didn't go out after a loss. I actually regret going and playoff basketball last night instead of staying home watching the game. It'll be weird not seeing him on the sideline.

                    • Locke interviewed deron this afternoon. Asked him pointblank about whether he gave the franchise an ultimatum and of course said no. Best part of the interview was when Deron sarcastically commented on Bucher and other national writers being in the lockerrom each night. Also said that is why he is the way he is with the media and will never change.

one thing i can't stand about locke is how he has to forgo any kind of criticism of the team or front office because he's on their payroll. it makes his show and interviews impossible for me to listen to.

The Bulls are to Sloan as Kentucky is to? Let's see if you SAT skills are still sharp.

Does DW think that sports writers will not be in the locker room when he plays somewhere else in a couple years? If he thinks the media coverage is bad in SLC, he should love getting to a bigger city.
