Jazz's Sloan said that he had confrontation with Williams at halftime last night, but stressed it was no different than past ones.Off he goes into the John Deere sunset.tribjazz Brian T. Smith
Big take on Jazz's Sloan: He's at peace. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I might actually side with KOC on this one but only because I have disdain in my heart for Rick. Mormons don't forget, Rick. Good fiscal move today by Utah. Corbin will be cheaper than Sloan and AK's hometown discount just got a little more discounted.
Also, Greg Miller's choices of people to sell his seats to just increased significantly because Corbin has more self control than ornery ol' Jerry.
I bet the Jazz will be able to afford to bring in Mike Dunleavy next year for sure now.

I have been too busy at work to follow this thread or the story, but I wish Jerry nothing but the best in his retirement. Sloan is a stud and I will miss him.
And if SloanHater shows up and takes a shot at him, I am warning you that it might get ugly."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

If you're not limiting Sloan potshots to Sloanhater, you've got plenty of material in the last 3 pages or so to get ugly with.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI have been too busy at work to follow this thread or the story, but I wish Jerry nothing but the best in his retirement. Question: would any of you like to have Sloan as your coach?
At whatever level you played. (Church ball for me.)
I would say no, dude just seems like a jerk. A jerk who knows how to win in the regular season though."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

Absolutely. Sloan is exactly the kind of coaches I loved playing for. Basketball I wasn't good, but his type was the kind of coaches I enjoyed for both football and rugby.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostQuestion: would any of you like to have Sloan as your coach?

My high school head coach was like Coach Taylor from FNL. No screaming, no disrespect, just pure business. No rookie mind games like Sloan the last few years.Originally posted by CJF View PostAbsolutely. Sloan is exactly the kind of coaches I loved playing for. I always kind of liked playing for a jerk. I would've played for Bobby Knight in a second. That said, I'd want to play for a coach who knows how to win in the post-season rather than a regular season hero like Sloan.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostQuestion: would any of you like to have Sloan as your coach?

I don't see the mind games. I know a lot of people think Sloan screws with rookies but I see it as he won't play someone unless they give full effort. I think in his mind the less highly acclaimed guys give that effort more than the more talented players from the get go and earn his respect and get the time. Honestly, it's been difficult for me to follow the team closely this year so I could be missing some of it, but I have never thought of him as one who plays games. If he sees talent and doesn't get max effort he'll play a guy who has less talent but who will run through a wall for the team. I loved playing for coaches like that. I didn't have the talent but I would do everything I could to play. That style probably doesn't translate well to the modern NBA.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostMy high school head coach was like Coach Taylor from FNL.
