so the fact that he may have perceived that appeasing deron was a higher priority than doing what he thought was best as a coach had nothing to do with it? clearly he thought something was damaged beyond the point of repair for him to quit abruptly and in the middle of the season, and that's on the front office.Originally posted by Jacob View PostI'm happy to review your evidence to counter the statements by everyone involved. Obviously something happened to make him pull the trigger. But nobody forced Sloan out. It was 100% his decision. He knew he wasn't getting the job done. I commend him.

Oh, I can accept it but I also don't take a press conference as gospel truth. Jerry earned the right to make his own decision, and yes, for the most part (Booner reference-seems appropriate), he did by leaving now but he probably will feel sick for doing what he preached to his players not to do: quit.Originally posted by Jacob View PostI thought I just heard Jerry say he was thinking about this for several days.
The suspend Deron scenario sounds plausible. But even if true, it doesn't speak poorly of the Jazz organization for not wanting to suspend Deron. It was Jerry's decision to go. He could have waited. He didn't. I don't have a problem with it. And I don't understand why people won't accept that."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

It actually wouldn't be a terrible hire as an assistant. Boylen is a good assistant coach, he is just a terrible head coach. Please hire him and save the Utes some money.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostI wouldn't mind having that joker as an assistant coach. I don't really care who you blame. But in the end, Jerry had the support of the organization (but probably not several players, but what's new) and he quit. Maybe that support wasn't quite what he wanted. So he quit. Maybe he wished all the players would just take orders and keep their mouths shut. So he quit. Maybe he wished they played harder. So he quit.
The bottom line is that nobody forced him out. He quit for reasons that only he knows. And probably he doesn't even really know. We rarely do.

Have a little respect, will you? Clearly Laker fans are still coming to grips with the fact that they're not going to get to defeat Sloan in the playoffs for the 4th straight year.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostI already linked a video that showed the cause of this.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
