I wouldn't mind having that joker as an assistant coach. Boylen and Fess would make a great pair.

so the fact that he may have perceived that appeasing deron was a higher priority than doing what he thought was best as a coach had nothing to do with it? clearly he thought something was damaged beyond the point of repair for him to quit abruptly and in the middle of the season, and that's on the front office.

your reliance on statements from involved parties as objective fact are hilarious. nobody ever bends the truth to make themselves look better, right?

The suspend Deron scenario sounds plausible. But even if true, it doesn't speak poorly of the Jazz organization for not wanting to suspend Deron. It was Jerry's decision to go. He could have waited. He didn't. I don't have a problem with it. And I don't understand why people won't accept that.
Oh, I can accept it but I also don't take a press conference as gospel truth. Jerry earned the right to make his own decision, and yes, for the most part (Booner reference-seems appropriate), he did by leaving now but he probably will feel sick for doing what he preached to his players not to do: quit.

It actually wouldn't be a terrible hire as an assistant. Boylen is a good assistant coach, he is just a terrible head coach. Please hire him and save the Utes some money.

            • Oh, sure, Darren didnt cause this....this was strictly Jerry's decision.

Let us Jazz fans make our own incorrect conclusions, will ya?

See what I mean about idiotic? Who has said Deron has nothing to do with this?

                        Clearly. I agree.

I don't really care who you blame. But in the end, Jerry had the support of the organization (but probably not several players, but what's new) and he quit. Maybe that support wasn't quite what he wanted. So he quit. Maybe he wished all the players would just take orders and keep their mouths shut. So he quit. Maybe he wished they played harder. So he quit.

The bottom line is that nobody forced him out. He quit for reasons that only he knows. And probably he doesn't even really know. We rarely do.

Have a little respect, will you? Clearly Laker fans are still coming to grips with the fact that they're not going to get to defeat Sloan in the playoffs for the 4th straight year.

Sloan said his retirement had to do with fatigue, rather than conflicts with players or management.
                                "There’s just a feeling."
"Nobody pushed Jerry or Phil out," Miller said. "No players pushed him out, Kevin didn’t push him out, an aspiring head coach didn’t push him out and I certainly didn’t push him out.
