You know, we live in a great time. A guy can have respect throughout his profession, make tons of money, be respected by his players and yet some guy can find an place to express his disgust about the guy.

I'm always amused when fans criticize coaches. If the coaches are as bad as fans think they are, how do they have a job coaching?

I'd like to know what percentage of these particular fans believe they could do a better job. I'm guessing that it's ridiculously high.

Isn't that part of being a fan and passionate about a sport? Sloan would have been fired years ago by any other team in the NBA. Well, any other team that is interested in winning championships.

This isn't that other board. I don't make things personal. It's nothing personal even with Sloan. The guy has just proven he can't win a championship. Time to move on.

Not sure, as I've never gotten that worked up about wins or losses by my favorite teams. I just see it as entertainment. But, being that it's generally accepted that fan is short for fanatic, I suppose you may be correct.

I would still love to see some sort of contest for a fan to win a chance to coach his favorite team if only for one game. That would be entertaining.

I'm sure the game is different when you are sitting on the bench making the decisions. However, not playing your best player from Game 3 and leaving your biggest defender on the bench for most of the game are calls even a casual Jazz fan could have made.

Sloan is great at getting players to execute his system. That is why he excels in the regular season. He has no clue how to adjust for the playoffs. That is why his postseason record is below .500.

[Edit] What disappoints me most about Sloan of the past 4 years is the absence of technicals. If Jerry was still alive, he would have been ejected early in the first half of tonight's game.
