Boozer's not the issue here only because it's now the offseason and he won't be in a Jazz uniform come November. You can bank on one of the teams left out of the Lebron/D-Weasy/Bosh sweepstakes will throw a chunk of change his way and the undersized warrior is gonna sign faster than you can say "And-1".

The real question is what to do with the rest of this team and how to use this draft pick. Do you resign the fragile Kal El or let him torch you each and every time the Suns play you? Do you bank on CJ finally getting it? How do you use AK's expiring contract? How do you prevent D-Will from buying a home in Southern California?

As I said before, it's misplaced anger. If Fisher hadn't been released for nothing there would be no animosity. Regardless of Fisher's true intentions, it's sad that LHM and KOC regret their decision. I guess they too felt it was a poor business decision in the end. Even sadder that Fisher has to bear the brunt of that vitriol from the very same that once cheered him on.

Exactly. So sarcastic comments about what a terrible person he is because he didn't publicly throw Utah under the bus don't provide very strong evidence in support your of the claim that Fisher didn't deceive LHM.

Keep in mind, there are quite a few of us who 1) were against the acquisition of Fisher in the first place, 2) never cheered for him without holding our noses, and 3) were ecstatic when he got released.

But that doesn't mean Fisher didn't lie to get what he wanted.

I'll take your money. I'm telling you that there is no doubt that Phil will take over when Jerry decides he's lost enough playoff games. Phil has turned down offers to move knowing the Utah job is his. LHM said as much.

The reason why he hasn't taken a head job is because he's repeatedly said he's not sure he wants to be a head coach again, not because he's waiting for Utah. LHM has said the job was his several years ago, but in recent years Phil has stated that he and Jerry are both getting old and he'll likely move on when Jerry does.

The feeling among most Jazz fans is that Ty is being groomed to take over. We'll see if that happens, and Phil could certainly still happen (though it makes very little sense at this point), but I think the odds of Corbin being the next coach have to be higher at this point.

So what exactly is our bet? I'm willing to take it. Is it just Phil or not as the next coach?

Con artist? He signed for far less than he would have made had he stayed in Utah. That Lakers team was barely playoff eligible and doesn't resemble the team of the last two years. Kobe was contemplating free agency. Smush Parker was running point with Kwame in the middle.

Really, Jazz fans would be fine with Fisher having gone to any other team in the league. It's okay to admit. And I suspect if the Lakers hadn't been successful the Jazz wouldn't care again. But thankfully LHM and OKC had brief hearts of gold and allowed Fish to sign with LA so he could prepare the rest of the Lakers to beat you 3 years in a row.

Fair. I admit I wasn't jazzed () about him signing with the Lakers either. But anything over Smush was an improvement. Still I have criticized his play plenty since coming back.

I have no problem admitting that but it doesn't mean he isn't a con artist. The two are not mutually exclusive. I think his decision had more to do with just his daughter is my point. I'm not saying it was just a convenient way of resigning with the Lakers but I will say that playing behind a new up and comer at PG had more to do with it than anyone wants to admit. Probably not more than his daughter's illness but his stats had taken a hit and his time on the court had certainly diminished. The system obviously played a part as well. Shooting 31% from 3 and averaging just 3 assists per might have been another reason.

His daughter was ill, she got better treatment in LA. Fine. But let's not forget his business is basketball and he wasn't doing as well as he'd hoped in a Jazz uniform.

Listen, booing Fisher is stupid. Getting rid of him was great news for the Jazz, but that still doesn't change the fact that he is a liar. It is true, had he signed somewhere back east, he would be cheered whenever he returned to Utah. Fans (and LHM) were duped into believing that was his motive: to either retire or move back east. Then 10 days later he signs with the Lakers and is happy as a clam. He made no bones about not wanting to be in Utah when he was originally traded there. He was deceptive and it worked out for him. Jazz fans should get over it, but it was pretty punk move to use his daughters illness to get back to the Lakers. Sorry.
