at the time he was a 2ppg, 3 rebounds per game player. He was tall but played like he had no interest playing close to the basket. I think the transfer may have been a wakeup call for him.

Probably you are right. I might be expecting too much out of coaches to see how good a player can be and then coach him to that level. Since I see players all over who seem to thrive in a new environment, I am not holding the missing of Nielson against Rose.

He leads the WCC in scoring. So yes he is.

Bartley didn't have many offers so I am not sure where he thought he would be the man. Came down to BYU and Auburn, he also took an official visit to Utah, not sure if he had an offer.

Isaac Neilson said he was asked by Dave Rose to transfer. He wanted to stay. Probably couldn't find room for a guy averaging 10 and 10 in 22 minutes on 60% from the floor.

Cory Calvert- again he was asked to transfer, I can't imagine he is any worse than Leifson or Beo. I am fine with him leaving as I think its a wash. But still weird.

Jake Toolson- I know he was dealing with his anxiety and back issues. But it seemed like Dave Rose gave up on him. I think he will have a huge year for UVU next year.

Again if we are going to give schollies to guys like Beo, Guinn and Leifson because we lack perimeter shooters, why didn't we offer Connor Toolson out of SLCC? He is only a soph and the kid can shoot the rock. Would have been a nice addition on the wing. You have ever other Lone Peak kid from that team, might as well add the 5th starter.

Some guys had to go. I don't worry too much about it all. I think if either Bartley or Chatman were around this year it would have made a material difference. I don't even miss Isaac Nelson - in fact I almost enjoyed watching him throttle BYU at the MC back in November. Great kid and a great moment for him but honestly I don't think he would make a difference for BYU.

Hey, I don't recall if we ever stipulated when the bet would end: at the end of regular season or the end of the post-season. Even though I am in a position to win now, I think it would make the most sense to go all the way to the end of the post-season. Agreed?

Sounds good. But in all honesty, if Bryant's PPG goes below 10, I'm going to be pretty ticked off. His emergence is a key reason I still have the slightest hope that this team can pull off the unthinkable and win the WCC Tourney.

Crazy thread on Cougarboard yesterday where someone was saying BYU wouldn't make the NCAA tournament even if they won the WCC tournament. When corrected he just doubled down and said that winning a conference tournament only gets you an autobid if you come from a one-bid league, and Gonzaga and SMC are already going, so no autobid. I would assume he was trolling, but the idiocy level over there is so high, who knows.
